A method, apparatus and computer program product are provided for displaying an indication of an object when location information associated with the object describes a location within the current field of view of an imaging device. The invention provides a presentation of contextual information to a digital device in relation to a period of time. As such the invention provides for efficient user access to historical, as well as, current and future or forecasted contextual information. In addition, the present invention provides for current contextual information to be presented in an idle mode view, a scrolling bar mode view or another inconspicuous view. Additionally the present invention provides a novel means of using context information to create multimedia file presentations, image or video file presentations that can be associated with previous periods of time, locations or other context data.

Various methods for implementing a multiple display mode are provided. One example method includes receiving an indication of a transition to a multiple display mode, and in response to at least receiving the indication of the transition to the multiple display mode, causing a home screen with home screen content to be displayed by a first display of a device. The present invention provides synchronous media playback and messaging between a host user and at least one guest user. In order to initiate the playback session, the host user invites the guest users. If a guest user wishes to participate in the playback session, the guest user accepts the invitation. When the host user determines that the session should begin, based upon the acceptances from the guest users, the host user initiates the playback of the media file that is locally stored at each terminal. The present invention also supports playback actions that may occur during the playback session. The host user can terminate the playback session, and any of the guest users can withdraw during the playback session.
