A display device includes a substrate having a display area and a non-display area adjacent to the display area. The display area includes a first sub-display area having a plurality of light transmission areas and a second sub-display area adjacent to the first sub-display area. The display device further include a touch sensor disposed on an encapsulation layer and including a plurality of mesh-type touch electrodes. The touch electrodes include a plurality of first touch electrodes disposed in a first touch area corresponding to the first sub-display area and a plurality of second touch electrodes disposed in a second touch area corresponding to the second sub-display area. Further, the density of the plurality of first touch electrodes in the first touch area is lower than the density of the plurality of second touch electrodes in the second touch area.

Display panel and display device including the same

Discussed is a display device including a substrate having a display area and a non-display area in the display area, light-emitting elements disposed in the display area, an encapsulation unit covering the light-emitting elements, a plurality of touch-sensing electrodes on the encapsulation unit in the display area and extending in a first direction, and a plurality of touch-driving electrodes on the encapsulation unit in the display area and extending in a second direction different from the first direction, in which the plurality of touch-sensing electrodes include a plurality of sub-touch-sensing electrodes spaced apart from each other, and in which at least one sub-touch-sensing electrode, which is adjacent to the non-display area among the plurality of sub-touch-sensing electrodes, is configured as a first variant electrode having a shape different from a shape of a remaining sub-touch-sensing electrode except for the at least one sub-touch-sensing electrode among the plurality of sub-touch-sensing electrodes.

Display device

A display device can include an optical electronic device disposed in a display area. To address a reduction of sensitivity of a touch panel disposed in a first sub-display area of the display area in which the optical electronic is disposed, an edge of a touch electrode in the first sub-display area can be provided with a finger part, a size of the touch electrode in the first sub-display area can be reduced, or a sub-touch electrode can be connected to the touch electrode in the first sub-display area, thereby increasing sensing sensitivity of the touch electrode.

A touch screen panel includes a plurality of touch sensors. A touch sensor includes a first touch electrode unit that includes a plurality of first mesh pattern electrodes disposed to be spaced apart from each other in a sensing area where the first touch electrode unit and the second touch electrode unit intersect. The touch sensor also includes a second touch electrode unit that includes a plurality of second mesh pattern electrodes disposed between the plurality of first mesh pattern electrodes in the sensing area to be spaced apart from each other. The touch sensors also includes a at least one floating electrode disposed between the plurality of first mesh pattern electrodes and the plurality of second mesh pattern electrodes. The dielectric breakdown of the first touch electrode unit and the second touch electrode unit is suppressed to improve reliability of the touch screen panel.
