The present invention relates to fire resistant composite materials and to fire resistant fabric materials and mattresses made therefrom. The composite materials include (a) a substrate selected from the group consisting of cotton, rayon, lyocell, wool, silk and blends thereof; and (b) a coating consisting essentially of water, ammonium polyphosphate, binder material and cellulose filler material. The binder material bonds the ammonium polyphosphate and cellulose filler materials together and to the substrate such that the substrate is coated with the coating.

Fire resistant composite material and fabrics made therefrom

The invention relates to asphalt emulsions comprising an asphalt component selected from the group consisting of a solvent extracted asphalt, an oxidized asphalt, and combinations thereof. The invention also relates to products made therefrom, including fibrous mats comprising a fiber component, such as glass fibers, and a binder component comprising an asphalt emulsion. The invention further relates to wet-laid processes for manufacturing fibrous mats and that employ the use of an amphoteric surfactant, which is applied to a wet fiber web prepared from a dispersion of fiber components, such as glass fibers.

The present invention relates to fire resistant composite materials and to fire resistant fabric materials and mattresses made therefrom. The composite materials include (a) a substrate selected from the group consisting of cotton, rayon, lyocell and blends thereof; and (b) a coating consisting essentially of water, ammonium polyphosphate, binder material, cross-linking material, thickener material and a catalyst. The binder material bonds the ammonium polyphosphate, cross-linking material, thickener material and catalyst together and to the substrate such that the substrate is coated with the coating.

Roofing material consists essentially of a substrate, a hot melt material applied to one side of the substrate, an asphalt material coating the other side of the substrate and roofing granules disposed on said asphalt material coated on the substrate. The hot melt material may be polyethylene, polyethylene-vinyl acetate, polypropylene, polyvinylidene chloride, polyester, nylon and mixtures thereof. The asphalt material may include non-asphaltic filler.

Roofing material

A composite material comprising at least a first layer which comprises a surfactant component, surfactant-generated microcells, a filler component and a binder component; and a second layer which comprises a metallic component. The composite material may further comprise a substrate to which the first layer is adhered. The composite materials have heat insulating, and fire resistant characteristics and are particularly suited for use in building materials and mattresses.

Composite material

A composite material comprising a substrate having an ionic charge which is coated with a coating having essentially the same ionic charge and a metallic component adhered on one or both sides of the coated substrate. The coating consists essentially of a filler material comprising clay and a binder material. The substrate is preferably fiberglass, the filler material may further comprise at least one additional filler selected from the group consisting of decabromodiphenyloxide, antimony trioxide, fly ash, charged calcium carbonate, mica, glass microspheres and ceramic microspheres and mixtures thereof and the binder material is preferably acrylic latex. The metallic component is preferably aluminum foil. The composite material has heat insulating and fire resistant characteristics.

A fire resistant fabric material comprising a substrate having an ionic charge which is coated with a coating having essentially the same ionic charge. The coating consists essentially of a filler material comprising clay and a binder material. The substrate is preferably fiberglass, the filler material may further comprise at least one additional filler selected from the group consisting of decabromodiphenyloxide, antimony trioxide, fly ash, charged calcium carbonate, mica, glass microspheres and ceramic microspheres and mixtures thereof and the binder material is preferably acrylic latex.

Fire resistant mattress fabric material and mattress

A composite material comprising a first layer which comprises a surfactant component, surfactant-generated microcells, a gel catalyst component and a binder component, and a second layer which comprises a metallic component is provided. The first layer may further comprise a filler component. In addition, the composite material may further comprise a substrate to which the first layer is adhered. The composite materials have heat insulating and fire resistant characteristics and are particularly suited for use in building materials and mattresses.

The present invention relates to a fire resistant structural material comprising a surfactant component, surfactant-generated microcells, a gel catalyst component and a binder component. The structural material may further comprise a filler component. In addition, the present invention relates to fire resistant fabric materials comprising a substrate coated with a coating comprising the fire resistant structural material. Further, the present invention relates to fire resistant articles of manufacture comprising the fire resistant fabric material, and particularly to mattresses comprising the fire resistant fabric material.
