An organic EL device is disclosed, which has an organic multilayer between a first electrode and a second electrode, the organic multilayer comprising a hole injection layer formed on the first electrode, and formed of a mixture of at least one selected from organic materials and at least one selected from inorganic materials; a hole transport layer having at least one layer on the hole injection layer; and an emitting layer formed on the hole transport layer.

A method for driving a flat panel display to improve an image quality and a lifetime of the flat panel display is disclosed. The method for driving the flat panel display includes the steps of: a) storing electric-charges contained in a parasitic capacitor of a data line and a pixel-storage capacitor (Cst) in each pixel via a pixel transistor connected to the data line, which enters a floating state during a predetermined time other than a light-emitting time caused by a data-current writing operation, until a current voltage reaches a threshold voltage of the pixel transistor; and b) performing the writing of a data current corresponding to a pixel to be driven by the data line via the pixel transistor, such that the flat panel display emits light.

Method for driving flat panel display

An organic EL device and a method for manufacturing the same are disclosed. The organic EL device comprises a substrate having a first electrode arranged on an active region, at least one organic material layer formed on the first electrode, a second electrode formed on the organic material layer so as to extend to an inactive region of the substrate to allow heat of the device to be dissipated to an outside therethrough, and a seal-cup facing the second electrode while being sealingly connected with the second electrode at a seal line via a sealant. The organic EL device can effectively lower an interior temperature of the device while preventing degradation thereof, thereby remarkably increasing lifetime thereof, and enhance interface stability of the device, thereby remarkably suppressing degradation in characteristics of the device.

Organic electroluminescence display and method for manufacturing the same

An improved organic electroluminescent device is provided. The device may include a protection layer provided on non-light-emitting regions of a panel to prevent reflection of external light. The protection layer may include an optical filter used in combination with a black insulator. The protection layer may provide for improved reflectance and transmissivity, and improved brightness without a commensurate reduction in contrast.

Provided is an organic EL device having a lower power consumption and high performance and enabling to display separate pictures on bidirectional screens as well as to display the same picture on the bidirectional screens, and a driving apparatus thereof. The organic EL device includes: a first organic EL panel for a unidirectional display; and a second organic EL panel for a unidirectional display, each of the first and second organic EL panels having a substrate, a first electrode, an emitting layer and a second electrode, wherein the first organic EL panel and the second organic EL panel are coupled so as to display pictures in bidirections. According to the present invention, a sufficient brightness can be obtained even under a low power. Also, since an opaque cathode is used, performance and transmittance are enhanced compared with the related art organic EL device using a transparent cathode.

Disclosed is a method of horizontally growing carbon nanotubes, in which the carbon nanotubes can be selectively grown in a horizontal direction at specific locations of a substrate having catalyst formed thereat, so that the method can be usefully utilized in fabricating nano-devices. The method includes the steps of: (a) forming a predetermined catalyst pattern on a first substrate; (b) forming a vertical growth preventing layer on the first substrate, which prevents carbon nanotubes from growing in a vertical direction; (c) forming apertures through the vertical growth preventing layer and the first substrate to expose the catalyst pattern through the apertures; and (d) synthesizing carbon nanotubes at exposed surfaces of the catalyst pattern in order to grow the carbon nanotubes in the horizontal direction.
