The present invention relates to a novel compound, to a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or optical isomer thereof, to a method for preparing same, and to a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of viral diseases containing same as an active ingredient. The novel compound according to the present invention not only has low cytotoxicity but also has excellent antiviral activity against picornavirus such as coxsackievirus, enterovirus, echovirus, poliovirus and rhinovirus, and thus can be effectively used as a pharmaceutical composition for the prevention or treatment of viral diseases such as infantile paralysis, acute hemorrhagic conjunctivitis, viral meningitis, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, vesicular disease, hepatitis A, myitis, myocarditis, pancreatitis, diabetes, epidemic myalgia, encephalitis, cold, herpangina, foot-and-mouth disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pneumonia, sinus infection, or otitis media.

The invention relates to pharmaceutical compositions, as well as health functional food compositions and quasi-drug compositions, for preventing, treating, or improving rheumatoid arthritis, comprising a monoacetyldiacylglycerol compound as an active ingredient. The monoacetyldiacylglycerol of the invention is effective in inhibiting the phosphorylation of STAT-3 known to be a therapeutic target for rheumatoid arthritis. As the monoacetyldiacylglycerol is an effective therapeutic agent without toxicity, the monoacetyldiacylglycerol can overcome the side effects of the medicines currently used in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis. Thus, the monoacetyldiacylglycerol can be used for preventing, treating or improving rheumatoid arthritis.

The present invention relates to a compound represented by formula 1 in the present specification or a pharmaceutically acceptable thereof, which inhibits an apoptosis mechanism of auditory hair cells for various ototoxicities leading to deafness, and protects the auditory organ and hearing, a method for preparation thereof, and a composition containing the same.

Compounds having auditory protective effect

A class of quinolinic sulfide derivatives of formula I are potent and specific antagonists at the strychnine insensitive glycine bitding site on the NMDA receptor complex with an pharmacological advantageous profile. They may be useful in treatment or prevention of neuro-degenerative disorders. Particularly, the compounds included in the present invention are especially useful for minimizing damage of the central nervous system arising as a consequence of ischemic or hypoxic condition such as stroke, hypoglycemia, cerebral ischemia, cardiac arrest, and physical trauma. They are also useful in prevention of chronic neurodegenerative disorders including epilepsy, Alzheimer's disease, Huntington's disease and Parkinsonism. By virtue of their NMDA receptor antagonist properties, the present compounds may also use as anticonvulsant, analgesic, antidepressant, anxiolytic, and antischizophrenic agent.
