Embodiments for providing an optimal ultrasound image for interventional treatment in a medical system are disclosed. In one embodiment, by way of non-limiting example, a medical system comprises: a medical device that is inserted into a target object and configured to remove a lesion within the target object; an ultrasound data acquisition unit configured to transmit and receive ultrasound signals to and from the target object to output ultrasound data; and a processing unit in communication with the ultrasound data acquisition unit, the processing unit being configured to form a plurality of ultrasound images based on the ultrasound data and perform an image processing upon each of the ultrasound images to detect a position of the medical device.

Providing an optimal ultrasound image for interventional treatment in a medical system

Disclosed herein is a portable ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus. The ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus includes a body part, a handle coupled to the body part and having a curved shape, and a display unit coupled to the handle. The handle has a curved shape to improve close contact feelings with an operator's palm, so that an operator does not experience palm fatigue even after extended use.

The present invention relates to an ultrasound diagnostic system. The ultrasound diagnostic system includes a plurality of connectors. Each of the connectors has a signal transmitter to transmit an identification signal uniquely identifying the respective connector. The ultrasound diagnostic system further includes a plurality of probes. Each of the probes has a signal detector and an indicator assembly. In response to a connection of each of the probes to one of the connectors, the signal detector of the respective probe is configured to detect the identification signal identifying said one of the connectors and the indicator assembly of the respective probe is configured to provide an identification of said one of the connectors based on the identification signal.

There is provided an image processing system, which includes: a volume data processor for forming volume data based on image signals and setting at least one frame in the volume data; an AGC/LGC parameter setting unit for setting axial gain compensation (AGC) and lateral gain compensation (LGC) parameters based on the frame; a gain parameter setting unit for setting a gain parameter based on the frame; an amplifying unit for performing AGC/LGC upon image signals based on the AGC/LGC parameters and amplifying the image signals based on the gain parameter; a brightness adjusting unit for analyzing intensities of pixels included in the volume data formed based on the image signal performing the AGC/LGC and adjusting the gain, and adjusting brightness of the volume data based on the analysis result; and an image processor for forming images based on the frame and the volume data.

System and method for processing an image

The present invention relates a method and an apparatus for enhancing ultrasound image quality through a post-processing. A method for enhancing an image quality of a two-dimensional (2D) ultrasound image, comprises the steps of: a) decomposing the 2D ultrasound image into a plurality of images having a multi-resolution by N levels, wherein N is a positive integer; b) determining characteristics of each pixel in the decomposed image; c) performing an enhancement process for the decomposed image based on the pixel characteristics; d) performing 1-level composition for the decomposed image; and e) repeatedly performing steps b) to d) until a size of the composed image is identical to that of the 2D ultrasound image.

Method and apparatus for enhancing image quality of a two-dimensional ultrasound image

This invention discloses an apparatus and method for identifying an organ within a human body by calculating the distances of an input ultrasound image signal and the ultrasound image signals classified by the predetermined types of organs in a database, which is based on the feature vectors of the inputted ultrasound image signal and the average vector and the standard deviation vector of the ultrasound image signals, thereby determining an ultrasound image signal having the shortest distance among the calculated distances as the optimal organ image signal for the input ultrasound image signal.

Apparatus and method for identifying an organ from an input ultrasound image signal

Disclosed is an apparatus and method for producing a three-dimensional (3D) moving image of a moving target object. The method comprises the steps of transmitting and receiving ultrasound signals to/from the moving target object; obtaining raw data; generating image frame data based on the obtained raw data; generating virtual image frame data based on the generated image frame data; and rendering a 3D moving image of the moving target object using the image and virtual image frame data. The apparatus comprises a probe, a raw 3D data obtaining unit, and an enhanced live 3D imaging unit for producing a 3D image of the moving target object.
