An apparatus and method for predicting a friction coefficient of a road surface are disclosed. The apparatus includes a microphone that obtains a sound signal around a tire mounted on a vehicle, and a controller that estimates a state and a type of the road surface and a degree of tire wear corresponding to the sound signal around the tire based on a first deep learning model, estimates a peak adjustment factor and an initial inclination adjustment factor of a friction coefficient curve corresponding to the state and the type of the road surface and the degree of tire wear based on a second deep learning model, and predicts the friction coefficient based on the peak adjustment factor and the initial inclination adjustment factor of the friction coefficient curve.

Apparatus for predicting friction coefficient of road surface and method thereof

A method of balancing an assembly of a wheel and a tire, may include measuring a maximum-value position of RFV of a tire and marking the measured maximum-value position, as a tire reference position, measuring each of the internal runout and external runout of the wheel, extracting a primary component of a waveform of the measured internal runout and a primary component of a waveform of the measured external runout and setting the former and latter measured primary components to be internal and external runout waveforms, respectively, synthesizing the internal and external runout waveforms and marking a minimum-value position on a synthesis waveform resulting from the synthesizing, as a wheel reference position, and aligning the tire reference position on the tire and the wheel reference position on the wheel to have the same phase and assembling the wheel and the tire.

Method of balancing assembly of wheel and tire

A method of matching a wheel and a tire includes steps of: measuring inner runout and outer runout of a wheel; extracting and setting a primary component of a measurement waveform of the inner runout as an inner runout waveform and extracting and setting a primary component of a measurement waveform of the outer runout as an outer runout waveform; comparing an inner minimum value that is a minimum value of the inner runout waveform and an outer minimum value that is the minimum value of the outer runout waveform with a predetermined runout reference value; and determining an assembly reference position of the wheel based on the inner minimum value or the outer minimum value or based on a resultant waveform of the inner runout waveform and the outer runout waveform, depending on a result of the comparing step.

Method of matching wheel and tire

A wheel structure for a vehicle includes: a rim, and a resonator including a plurality of resonance tubes attached along an outer peripheral surface of the rim. The plurality of resonance tubes are spaced apart from each other and connected along the outer peripheral surface of the rim by a plurality of strips, and an end of each of the strips is coupled to a corresponding end of each of the resonance tubes.
