Disclosed is a storage device which includes non-volatile memory devices, temperature sensors, and a storage controller receiving temperature information from the temperature sensors. Each of the plurality of memory blocks is allocated to one of a plurality of zones, and the storage controller performs a first zone reallocation operation to reallocate a block of a non-volatile memory device with a lower temperature to a zone with a higher hit ratio and to reallocate a block of a non-volatile memory device with a higher temperature to a zone with a lower hit ratio. The storage controller performs a first zone rating to generate a first table based on hit ratio information of the zones, performs a first memory rating to generate a second table based on the temperature information, and performs the first zone reallocation operation based on the first table and the second table.

A semiconductor storage device includes a circuit substrate. The circuit substrate includes a main body and a connection tab connected to a side of the main body. The a main body includes a first chip mounting region and a second chip mounting region. A first semiconductor chip of a first type is mounted on the first chip mounting region. A second semiconductor chip of a second type is mounted on the second chip mounting region. The first type of the first semiconductor chip is different from the second type of the second semiconductor chip. The circuit substrate further includes a first thermal via in the connection tab and comprising a conductive material.

A storage device includes memories and a controller. The controller controls first and second program operations on the memory. When a temperature of the memory is lower than a reference value, the controller controls execution of the first program operation. When the temperature of the memory is equal to or higher than the reference value, the controller controls execution of the second program operation which consumes a smaller amount of power than the first program operation. The controller adjusts an operational condition of the memory such that bandwidth on the memory remains equivalent during the first and second program operations.

The upper section of the VCM block has a through-hole through which the crash stopper extends into a space between the upper and lower sections of the VCM block. The lower section of the VCM block has a groove in which the crash stopper is received. The hard disk drive can be assembled in a top down manner to allow the assembly process to be fully automated.

A hard disk drive (HDD) having a disk damper and a disk protector. The HDD includes a base member, a spindle motor installed on the base member, a plurality of data storage disks mounted on the spindle motor, an actuator pivotably installed on the base member and moving a read/write head to specified positions over the disks, a disk damper disposed between adjacent disks of the plurality of disks and reducing vibrations of the disks, and a disk protector projecting by a specified height toward the disks form positions of top and bottom surfaces of the disk damper to correspond to outer edges of the disks where data is not recorded. Accordingly, if the disks are deflected due to an external shock, only the outer edges of the disks contact the disk protector, thereby preventing data recording surfaces of the disks from being damaged.
