An electronic apparatus includes a display module including a display area through which an image is displayed and a non-display area adjacent to the display area and provided with a through hole through which a signal is transmitted, which is defined in the display area, an electronic module disposed under the display module, overlapping the through hole, and transmitting or receiving the signal, and an antenna module disposed on the display module and including a first portion through which an opening corresponding to the through hole is defined and a second portion extending from the first portion and inserted into the through hole.

A backlight unit including a bottom cover having a bottom surface and a sidewall extending from the bottom surface, light sources, and a reflection sheet. Outermost ones of the light sources are configured to include a first light source and a second light source. The first light source and the second light source have different distances from the sidewall. The reflection sheet includes a first reflection sheet disposed between the sidewall and the first light source and a second reflection sheet disposed between the sidewall and the second light source. The first reflection sheet and the second reflection sheet have different inclined angles from each other.

Backlight unit and display apparatus having the same

A backlight assembly includes a light guide member extending in a direction and having a light incident surface and a light exiting surface. A light source faces the light guide member and supplies light to the light guide member through the light incident surface. A reflecting member reflects light exiting from the light exiting surface of the light guide member. The reflecting member includes a groove receiving the light guide member. A first reflecting portion is disposed under the light guide member and reflects light refracted by the light guide member in an upward direction. A second reflecting portion is disposed on the light guide member and reflects light refracted by the light guide member in a downward direction.

Backlight assembly and a display device using the same

A backlight assembly that is adapted for use with an image displaying flat panel includes a light guide plate assembly and one or more light sources disposed under the light guide plate assembly. An upper portion of the light guide plate assembly is overlapped by a display area of the flat panel while a lower portion is disposed under the upper portion, and includes light guiding material for redirecting sourced light as well as reflectors for also redirecting light sourced from small, light sourcing areas underneath the upper portion for redistribution into the larger area of light guiding material provided in the upper portion of the light guide plate assembly. The upper portion also has one or more light reflectors. In one embodiment, opposed ones of light sources are angled so they don't shine light directly into one another.

Backlight assembly and display apparatus having the same

A display apparatus includes a display panel, a plurality of spaced apart point light sources outputting light and each having an orientation angle greater than or equal to about 50&#xb0; and less than about 90&#xb0;, and an optical plate interposed between the display panel and the point light sources. The optical plate has a base comprising front and rear surfaces and a plurality of convex sections formed on the front surface of the base. Each convex section has a cross section perpendicular to the front surface in which the cross section has a form of a segment of an ellipse including an arc of an ellipse and a chord linking both ends of the arc while satisfying an equation, when a minor axis of the ellipse has a length of 2a, and a major axis of the ellipse has a length of 2b.

A backlight assembly includes a light source generating light and a first optical member diffusing the light. The first optical member includes a first diffusion member provided on an exit surface of the first optical member, from which the light exits, to diffuse the light. The first diffusion member includes a plurality of edges each having a curved shape and extending between the exit surface and a vertex of the first diffusion member. Accordingly, the light exiting through the exit surface is effectively diffused by the edges of the first diffusion member.

A backlight assembly includes a plurality of light sources emitting light and a diffusion plate. The diffusion plate includes an incident surface on which the light is incident, an exit surface which is opposite the incident surface and from which the light exits, and first and second lens patterns which are disposed on the exit surface and have different shapes from each other. Each of the first lens patterns includes a first curved portion which forms a curve and first linear portions which extend from both ends of the first curved portion, respectively. Each of the second lens patterns includes a second curved portion which forms a curve and second linear portions which extend from both ends of the second curved portion, respectively.

A backlight assembly includes; light sources which emit light, a diffusion plate including an incident surface on which the light is incident, an exit surface which is disposed substantially opposite to the incident surface and from which the light exits, and a lens pattern which is disposed on the exit surface, and an optical sheet which overlaps the diffusion plate and includes a prism pattern on a top surface thereof, wherein each lens of the lens pattern includes a first curved portion which forms part of a curve and first linear portions which extend from both ends of the first curved portion, respectively, and each prism of the prism pattern includes a second curved portion at an apex thereof.
