An engine control system is provided with a dual continuously variable valve duration (CVVD) device to optimize engine performance. The system includes an engine with a combustion chamber, an intake valve for selectively supplying an air-fuel mixture, an ignition plug for combustion, and an exhaust valve for expelling exhaust gas. The CVVD device adjusts the intake and exhaust valve durations. A turbine positioned downstream of the engine increases exhaust pressure, followed by a warm-up catalyst to preheat the exhaust gas, and a gasoline particulate filter (GPF) to filter soot. A controller, based on vehicle driving conditions, adjusts ignition timing, intake, and exhaust durations. When lambda (λ) is 1, the controller controls exhaust duration to avoid overlap with intake valve timing by retarding exhaust valve opening and advancing exhaust valve closing, thereby maintaining a negative valve overlap period and enhancing GPF regeneration and emissions control.

A copper alloy for valve seats, and more particularly a copper alloy for valve seats with improved wear resistance, contains 12 to 24% by weight of Ni, 2 to 4% by weight of Si, 7 to 13% by weight of Cr, 20 to 35% by weight of Fe, and a balance of Cu and other impurities.

Copper alloy for valve seats

A copper alloy for engine valve seats manufactured by laser cladding improves wear resistance of the copper alloy. The copper alloy includes 12 to 24 wt % of Ni, 2 to 4 wt % of Si, 4 to 12 wt % of Mo, 15 to 35 wt % of Fe, and the remaining wt % of Cu and impurities.

A compression ignition gasoline engine uses low-cetane number fuel, such as gasoline. The engine includes a combustion control device having an injector directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber, intake and exhaust valves, and a variable valve device changing a valve timing, in which the compression ignition gasoline engine includes: at least two intake valves and two exhaust valves; a spark plug positioned at the center portion of the combustion chamber; and an injector positioned adjacent to the spark plug toward the center portion of the combustion chamber, in which the exhaust valve is a symmetric valve lift in which the lift and the opening section of the tow exhaust valves are the same in low lift, and the intake valve is an asymmetric valve lift in which the lift and the opening of the two intake valves are different in the low lift.

A variable turbocharger including a turbine housing, a first scroll fluidly communicating with a turbine, a second scroll formed along an outside of the first scroll, wherein the first scroll and the second scroll are disposed within the turbine housing for exhaust gas to exhaust through the turbine, a partitioning unit for selectively separating the first scroll and the second scroll, and a a flux control valve disposed at the exhaust gas inflow portion and selectively coupled to the partitioning unit for blocking the exhaust gas from flowing into the second scroll. The variable turbocharger may prevent turbo lag at a low speed and be highly efficient at a high speed.

Variable turbocharger and control method for the same

A variable turbocharger including a turbine housing, a first scroll fluidly communicating with a turbine, a second scroll formed along an outside of the first scroll, wherein the first scroll and the second scroll are disposed within the turbine housing for exhaust gas to exhaust through the turbine, a partitioning unit for selectively separating the first scroll and the second scroll, and a flux control valve disposed at the exhaust gas inflow portion and selectively coupled to the partitioning unit for blocking the exhaust gas from flowing into the second scroll. A variable valve lift apparatus may include an input unit, a control link disposed to a control shaft, a driving cam that is provided with a contact portion and pivotally disposed to the control shaft, a valve opening unit that contacts the contact portion and is opened and closed in accordance with pivoting of the driving cam, wherein the control link, the input unit and the driving cam are connected by a connecting unit, and contact positions of the valve opening unit and the contact portion are variable according to a relative rotation angle of the control link around the control shaft.

The CVVL device includes a rocking cam having a rolling face contacting a rocker arm is formed to press the rocker arm when pivoted, a rocking roller, which is disposed above the drive cam and rolls on an outer circumference of the drive cam, a control apparatus, which changes a position of the rocking roller rolling on the outer circumference of the drive cam; and a rocking apparatus, which pivots the rocking cam according to a position of the rocking roller such that a position where the rocker arm is contacted with the rolling face is changed depending on the position of the rocking roller.

A variable compression ratio apparatus may include a connecting rod rotatably connected to the piston so as to receive the combustion force therefrom, a pin link mounted to the crankshaft and rotatably connected to the connecting rod so as to receive the combustion force from the connecting rod and rotate the crankshaft, a connecting link rotatably coupled to the pin link and changing a rotation trace of the pin link with respect to a rotation axis of the crankshaft, an eccentric camshaft provided with first and second shaft portions eccentric from each other and configured to rotate by a predetermined angle according to a driving condition of the engine, a sub control link rotatably connected to the eccentric camshaft about the first shaft portion and rotatably connected to the connecting link, and a main control link rotatably connected to the eccentric camshaft about the second shaft portion and rotatably connected to the connecting link.

Variable compression ratio apparatus

A continuous variable valve lift apparatus according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a camshaft, an input cam disposed to the camshaft, a variable lever that is rotably connected to the camshaft and includes a first arm including a first connecting shaft and a second arm including a second connecting shaft, a first link rotating around the first connecting shaft corresponding to a rotation of the input cam, an output cam rotating around the camshaft, a valve opening/closing portion that is opened and closed corresponding to a rotation of the output cam, and a connecting portion that is disposed for the output cam to rotate corresponding to a rotation of the first link.
