Disclosed herein are a microlens array sheet having a black matrix and a method for manufacturing the same. The manufacturing method includes a) the step of defining the regions of light apertures, through which condensed light passes, in a negative-type light-sensitive resin layer by radiating and condensing parallel light after sequentially laying a microlens array layer, a transparent support substrate or film layer and the negative-type light-sensitive resin layer one on top of another, and b) eliminating portions other than the regions of the light apertures formed in the light-sensitive resin layer, and forming a black matrix layer in regions where the portions have been eliminated.

A scanning device includes a mirror unit formed on a substrate so as to be pivotable centering around one axis for adjusting the direction of reflected light; a support frame formed at one surface of the mirror unit for preventing dynamic deflection of the mirror unit and supporting the mirror unit; and a driving unit provided on the substrate and driving the mirror unit. Thus, a dynamic deflection phenomenon does not occur when the mirror unit is pivoted centering around the pivoting axis. Accordingly, stable operation is possible and the angle of rotation of the mirror unit can be accurately adjusted, so that the scanning device can be effectively used in a high-speed precision scanning system.

Disclosed herein is a raster scanning display system. The raster scanning display system includes a micro mirror and a galvanic mirror. The micro mirror rotates in two horizontal directions and forms a horizontal beam by reflecting input light. The galvanic mirror rotates in two vertical directions and forms a two-dimensional scan region by reflecting the horizontal beam.

A microlens array sheet and a manufacturing method thereof. The microlens array sheet comprises: a transparent substrate; bases formed on the transparent substrate, the bases having the same height as a result of a planarization process conducted for the upper portions of the bases, microlenses formed on the bases; and a gap-filling film applied on the resulting structure, in which the bases have the same height. The method comprises the steps of: depositing base-forming molds on a transparent support substrate or film and loading a material to be used as bases between the base-forming molds; polishing the upper portion of the material for use as bases so as to form bases having the same level, and removing the base-forming molds; depositing microlenses on the formed bases; and depositing a gap-filling film on the resulting structure.

Disclosed is a microlens array sheet capable of improving a viewing angle by maintaining a fill factor while reducing a radius of curvature of the microlens of the microlens array sheet. To this end, the microlens array sheet includes: a substrate; a lens arranged on the substrate; and a gap filling layer formed at exposed surfaces of the substrate and the lens, wherein the lens is arranged as high as or at a higher position than a height of the gap filling layer formed at a gap between lenses arranged on the substrate.

The present invention discloses a microlens array sheet of a projection screen including a lens sheet having a predetermined area, microlenses arranged on one surface of the lens sheet in the horizontal and vertical directions, a black matrix including apertures corresponding to the microlenses, and being adhered to the other surface of the lens sheet, an optical diffusing layer formed on the lens sheet to cover the black matrix, for widening a viewing angle, and a protecting film for protecting the optical diffusing layer. An optical fiber coupling system is provided which minimizes beam loss. The system includes a substrate with a laser beam emitting unit attached at one end, a first fine lens which focuses or collimates a vertical beam emitted by the laser beam emitting unit, a set of second fine lenses which focus or collimate a horizontal beam emitted by the laser beam emitting unit, and a beam output unit which outputs the beam focused or collimated by the first and second fine lenses. This arrangement reduces an alignment error associated with this type of optical system and improves a degree of beam focus. Additionally, the optical fiber coupling system can be made compact and available for mass-production.

A variable optical attenuator for optical communications comprises: a substrate on which a plurality of alignment grooves are patterned; an input optical fiber aligned in one of the alignment grooves and receiving an optical signal; a reflector formed on the substrate so as to move to change a path of an optical signal which has passed through the input optical fiber; an output optical fiber aligned in one of the alignment grooves and outputting an optical signal whose path has been changed; a first lens aligned in one of the alignment grooves between the input/output optical fibers and the reflector so as to collimate an optical signal in a direction perpendicular to the substrate; and a second lens patterned on the substrate between the input/output optical fibers and the reflector so as to collimate an optical signal in a direction horizontal to the substrate, thereby facilitating an assembly process, reducing an alignment error, and miniaturizing its entire size.

Disclosed is an appearance processing method comprising: designing a reference appearance for designing a set shape as a theoretical value; producing a specimen; comparing the reference appearance with the specimen and thus setting a deviation region; performing ion beam milling for milling the deviation region of the specimen by ion beam; and comparing the milling-processed specimen with the reference appearance after the ion beam milling thus to obtain a deviation and milling the deviation region repeatedly thus to make the specimen consist with the reference appearance. Accordingly, an arbitrary shape, a minute spherical surface, or an aspheric shape can be precisely processed, and a large quantity of fabrication by a uniform processing precision is possible.
