Disclosed is an apparatus and method for controlling step charging of a secondary battery. A charging control unit determines a SOC, an OCV and a polarization voltage of the secondary battery, determines an OCV deviation corresponding to a difference between the OCV and a predefined minimum OCV value, determines a correction factor corresponding to the polarization voltage and the OCV deviation, determines a look-up SOC by correcting the SOC according to the correction factor, determines the magnitude of a charging current corresponding to the look-up SOC, and provides the determined charging current to a charging device.

Apparatus and method for controlling step charging of secondary battery

A battery diagnosis apparatus includes a voltage sensor to generate a voltage signal indicating a battery voltage of a battery, a current sensor to generate a current signal indicating a battery current flowing through the battery and a control circuit. The control circuit determines a measured capacity curve over a predetermined set voltage range based on the voltage signal and the current signal collected at each unit time for a constant current period during which the battery is charged or discharged at a predetermined current rate over the set voltage range. The control circuit determines a measured differential curve over the set voltage range based on the measured capacity curve. The control circuit determines whether a negative electrode tortuosity of the battery abnormally increased by comparing the measured differential curve with a reference differential curve.

Provided are a battery management system, a battery management method, a battery pack and an electric vehicle. The battery management system includes a sensing unit to generate battery information indicating a current, a voltage and a temperature of a battery, and a control unit. The control unit determines a temporary estimate for a SOC in a current cycle using a time update process of an extended Kalman filter based on a previous estimate indicating a SOC in a previous cycle and the battery information. The control unit determines open circuit voltage (OCV) information based on the temporary estimate. The control unit determines a definitive estimate indicating the SOC in the current cycle using a measurement update process of the extended Kalman filter based on the temporary estimate, the OCV information and the battery information.

A device for estimating state of charge of battery of the present disclosure includes: a sensing unit configured to measure at least one of a first voltage and an OCV of a battery; and a processor operably coupled to the sensing unit. The processor is configured to estimate a second voltage of the battery based on the OCV of the battery or a previously estimated first SOC, calculate a counted voltage error by counting a voltage error between the first voltage and the second voltage of the battery, correct the second voltage of the battery depending on whether the counted voltage error is included in a reference error range, and estimate a first SOC of the battery based on the second voltage or the corrected second voltage.

Provided is an apparatus and method for estimating a state of charge of a secondary battery. The apparatus includes a sensor unit configured to measure a voltage and a current of the secondary battery in a predetermined cycle, and a control unit operably coupled to the sensor unit. The control unit is configured to estimate the state of charge of the secondary battery in the predetermined cycle based on the voltage and the current measured by the sensor unit. The control unit is further configured to determine an operating state of the secondary battery as any one of a linear operating state and a non-linear operating state based on a threshold voltage and the measured voltage, and then determine first process noise indicating inaccuracy of a current integration model and second process noise indicating inaccuracy of an equivalent circuit model according to the determined operating state.

Disclosed is a method and apparatus for estimating parameters of a battery equivalent circuit model. The battery equivalent circuit model includes a first and second resistors and a capacitor. The method includes reading a pulse discharge profile corresponding to a parameter estimation condition from a plurality of pre-stored pulse discharge profiles, the pulse discharge profile including a first number of terminal voltages sequentially measured from a battery having a specific SOC in a predetermined cycle while the battery is discharged with a specific constant current from an OCV corresponding to the specific SOC to a lower limit of discharge voltage at a specific temperature, extracting a second number of terminal voltages between the OCV and a threshold voltage from the first number of terminal voltages, and estimating resistance values of the first and second resistors based on the OCV, the constant current, and the second number of terminal voltages.

The present invention prepared insulin-producing endocrine cells by inducing the differentiation of human embryonic stem cells or human induced pluripotent stem cells into definitive endoderm (DE), pancreatic endoderm (PE), endocrine progenitors (EP), and endocrine cells (EC) stepwise in that order. Particularly, the present invention established the conditions for the formation of an insulin producing endocrine aggregate (EA) from the endocrine cells.
