A method for manufacturing an electrophoretic display device includes forming partition walls for defining a plurality of pixel regions on a lower substrate; filling charged particles into the plurality of pixel regions; filling a pixel solvent in the plurality of pixel regions having been filled with the charged particles; and attaching the lower substrate and an upper substrate to each other.

An electrophoretic display device includes a lower substrate having pixel electrodes thereon to define a plurality of pixel areas; partition walls formed on the lower substrate to surround the pixel electrodes; electrophoretic dispersion liquid having a plurality of charged particles colored to display colors, the electrophoretic dispersion liquid filled into the plurality of the pixel areas defined by pixel electrodes and surrounding the partition walls; a membrane layer disposed on the partition walls and covering the electrophoretic dispersion liquid, the membrane layer comprising a plurality of hole patterns at portions corresponding to the plurality of the pixel areas; and an upper substrate bonded with the lower substrate such that the membrane layer is disposed therebetween.

Electrophoretic display device and method for manufacturing the same

A color linear charge coupled device for an image pickup apparatus includes red, green, and blue photo diode arrays. First, second, third and fourth transfer gates formed in the device move signal charges generated at the photo diode arrays toward first, second and third horizontal charge coupled device (HCCD) shift registers. By controlling the transfer gates, the red and green signal charges are first transferred to their HCCD shift registers. The blue signal charge is then transferred to its HCCD shift register. Only three HCCD shift registers are required, thus, the device dimension and configuration is considerably simplified compared to prior art configurations. Also, the color resolution of the device is greatly improved because the distance between the respective photo diode arrays is substantially decreased.

Color linear charge coupled device and method for driving the same

A color CCD includes a plurality of photo diodes, a color filter layer for making only light of predetermined wavelength pass through to each photo diode, and a plurality of poly silicon films formed on selected photo diodes. The color filter layer may be made of any one layer of dyeing layers of magenta and cyan or two overlapped dyeing layers of magenta and cyan.

The linear color CCD comprises a photodiode array section for performing a photoelectric conversion operation to produce signal charges corresponding to red, green and blue color signals, the photodiode array section having a first photodiode array for producing the signal charges corresponding to the green color signal, a second photodiode array disposed over the first photodiode array for producing the signal charges corresponding to the red color signal and a third photodiode array disposed under the first photodiode array for producing the signal charges corresponding to the blue color signal, a horizontal CCD analog shift register section having a first horizontal CCD analog shift register disposed between the first and second photodiode arrays to shift the signal charges from the first and second photodiodes horizontally and a second horizontal CCD analog shift register disposed between the first and third photodiode arrays to shift the signal charges from the first and third photodiodes horizontally, and a shift gate section for shifting the signal charges from the photodiode array section to the horizontal CCD analog shift register section upon being turned on.
