An elasticity measurement apparatus includes a lower layer structure having first and second openings, first and second deformable membranes covering the first and second openings to define first and second chamber and deformable by pressure within the first and second chambers respectively, a support layer structure on the lower layer structure to protrude and configured to support the first and second deformable membranes to be spaced apart from the elastic body, a driving portion to apply pressure within the first and second chambers to deform the first and second deformable membranes, and first and second deformation detecting portions to detect deformations of first and second deformable membranes. When the pressure within the first and second chambers is increased from a first pressure to a second pressure, the first deformable membrane is deformed with contacting the elastic body, while the second deformable membrane is deformed without contacting the elastic body.

A particle processing device includes a chamber and at least one capturing structure. The chamber is connected to a first port and a second port to provide a space between the first and second ports for flowing of a fluid having a particle. A particle processing device includes a substrate and at least one fluidic path. The substrate is rotatable with respect to the middle region thereof. The fluidic path is provided in the substrate to extend from the middle region to a peripheral region. The fluidic path transfers a fluid having a particle from an input portion to an output portion of the fluidic pather by using a centrifugal force of the rotation of the substrate. A capturing region is formed between the input portion and the output portion of the fluidic path to have a changeable sectional shape for capturing the particle.

The present invention is an apparatus and method for detecting the motion characteristics of particles in a flow channel. The apparatus includes first and second electrode groups, each having a pair of electrodes, which are arranged to be spaced apart from each other in a flow channel. The pair of electrodes function as both a drive electrode and a sensing electrode for directly applying voltage and measuring impedance between the electrodes. An operation control unit measures variation in electrical pulses generated in the first and second electrode groups, thus detecting motion characteristics of the particles. The present invention is advantageous in that it does not require complicated optical measuring instruments or analyzing instruments, and in that it can be used to easily detect the motion characteristics of particles in a flow channel merely by analyzing variation in electrical pulses without requiring preliminary information.

Apparatus and method for detecting motion characteristics of particles in flow channel

An electromagnetic multi-axis actuator, which can realize small size, light weight and low power consumption while being capable of performing multi-axis motion by overcoming limitations in a driving range, compared to a typical electrostatic actuation scheme or a typical electric motor actuating scheme. The electromagnetic multi-axis actuator includes an actuating unit () capable of being driven in a multi-axis manner, one or more elastic parts () connected to the actuating unit and made of a conductive material, and one or more coil substrates () disposed either above or below or both above and below the elastic parts and provided with conductive coils formed thereon to form magnetic fields around the elastic parts. The multi-axis actuator having the above construction can realize high response speed while having a driving range of high power caused by low power consumption, a large displacement, and multiple axes.

Disclosed is a device for measuring the concentration of the particles contained in a fluid. The device comprises a control volume body having a predetermined effective volume. An inlet path is formed at an end of the control volume body to feed the fluid into the control volume body therethrough. An outlet path is formed at another end of the control volume body to discharge the fluid from the control volume body therethrough. Measuring instruments are provided at the inlet path and the outlet path to emit electrical signals when the fine particles pass through the inlet path and the outlet path. A computing machine receives the electrical signals transmitted from the measuring instruments, and then computes the number and the concentration of fine particles contained in the control volume body. The device is easily integrated with Micro-TAS (Total analysis System).

According to a device and system for measuring the properties of cells, there is an advantage in that, since a cell accommodation unit having a volume is provided, the properties of three-dimensional cells can be measured. Further, the present invention is advantageous in that it enables passive measurement of multiple properties which passively measures the electrical, mechanical and/or optical properties of cells, and active measurement of multiple properties which actively applies electrical, mechanical and optical types of stimulation to cells and measures their electrical, mechanical and/or optical reactions, thus measuring the multiple properties of cells with high reliability.

The droplet receiver includes an internal space formed such that its sectional area is reduced towards an input part, thus preventing the rebounding of droplets which enter a droplet receiving part, and includes an intercepting fluid layer so as to isolate the received droplets from the outside, thus preventing droplets received in the droplet receiving part from being contaminated and volatilizing.
