A multi-display apparatus includes two panels disposed with a step difference so that pixel boundaries of display devices formed on substrates overlap, and at least one of the two panels includes a thin film encapsulation layer covering the display device and disposed on an adjacent surface of one of the two panels where there is the step difference to improve a disconnection of an image at a seam between the two panels, and mitigate a perspective difference of the image at the seam due to the step difference between the two panels, thereby realizing a large natural and smooth image.

Multi-display apparatus and method thereof

A multi-display apparatus includes a thin film encapsulating structure to prevent moisture penetration through sides of the encapsulating structure. Each of a plurality of unit panels of the multi-display apparatus includes a substrate, a display device formed on the substrate, an organic material layer formed on the substrate to bury the display device, an inorganic material layer stacked on the organic material layer, and a moisture barrier wall that is formed outside the display device on the substrate and has a height greater than a thickness of the organic material layer. The multi-display apparatus having a thin film encapsulating structure can realize a stable, smooth, and large image screen since the thin film encapsulating structure can reduce a width of seams between the unit panels and can prevent moisture penetration.

Provided is a multi-display apparatus and a method of manufacturing the multi-display apparatus. The multi-display apparatus includes a plurality of display panels displaying images and a stepped portion formed in at least one of a pair of adjacent display panels so as to be indented in a thickness direction of the one of a pair of adjacent display panels. The pair of adjacent display panels is engaged with each other in the stepped portion.

The first panel has an interface surface formed of a hard material, and the second panel has an interface surface formed of a soft material. An organic light emitting display and a manufacturing method thereof include an improved encapsulation layer. The encapsulation layer of the organic light emitting display includes an organic layer uniformly covering bank portions and light emitting areas on a substrate; and an inorganic layer formed thicker on the light emitting areas than on the bank portions. In the organic light emitting display, the inorganic layer is thick on the light emitting area in which a sealing ability is required and the bank portion is thin in order to provide flexibility. Therefore, the encapsulation layer can be formed more easily compared to an encapsulation layer on a device in which the organic layer and inorganic layer are alternately formed at least 10 times.

Organic light emitting display and manufacturing method thereof

A foldable multi-display apparatus forms a large screen by connecting housings supporting display panels in a folding manner. In the foldable multi-display apparatus, the display panels are located below a hinge axis when the display panels are unfolded. Therefore, the display panels do not contact each other during rotation of the housings with respect to the hinge axis. In this configuration, the scratching of the display panels during unfolding operations can be prevented, thereby providing the foldable multi-display apparatus with increased reliability and lifespan.

A top emission type organic light emitting display includes an organic light emitting diode in which an anode, a light emitting layer and a transparent cathode are successively deposited. The cathode has a sandwiched structure in which a transparent oxide layer is inserted between the metal layers. Exemplary embodiments of the cathode of the present invention have better electric conductivity than a conventional cathode of an organic light emitting diode device, and thus has lower power consumption than a conventional top emission organic light emitting display with similar light transmission.

A method of manufacturing a cathode for a plasma etching apparatus includes steps for making the inside of holes formed in the cathode and the surface of the cathode a hard surface so as to prevent particle generation while the cathode is in use for etching a wafer. These steps include: a) forming a plurality of holes in a silicon substrate; b) carrying out a physical-surface treatment on the surface of the silicon substrate using slurry; and c) carrying out a chemical-surface treatment for removing protrusions inside the holes formed on the silicon substrate and on the surface of the silicon substrate using potassium hydroxide (KOH). The cathode manufactured by this method has a hard surface formed thereon and inside the holes, and the hard surface has no protrusions. Without protrusions, no particles can be generated from protrusions being etched and loosened during the etching process, so no particles adhere to the wafer being etched.
