Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may group multiple carriers with transmission time intervals (TTIs) having different durations into different physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) groups. The UE may reserve power per each PUCCH group. Alternatively, the UE may reserve power per each TTI duration across the one or more PUCCH groups.

Described herein are systems and methods that may autonomously identify a person of a member pool based on pictures of the person, without requiring the person's cooperation. Contextual information of the picture(s) along with the picture(s) are utilized. Contextual information may be the information that is related to current circumstances when the picture was taken. A system may comprise cameras that map appearances to visual data; a mapping function that maps identities and camera information to generate contextual information and a set of a priori probabilities; recognition functions that map the visual data to another set of probabilities, which match each of the visual data with each of the one of the identities; and a decision function that combines the set of a priori probabilities and the another set of probabilities to determine one of the plurality of the identities.

Systems and methods for member facial recognition based on context information

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A UE may configure a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) using shortened transmission time intervals (sTTIs), which may be referred to as a shortened PUSCH (sPUSCH), to transmit uplink control information (UCI) to a base station or other wireless device. The UE may use mapping rules, which may be based at least in part on a number of data symbols included in the sPUSCH, to map different types of UCI to different resource elements (REs) within the sPUSCH. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Multiple transmission time intervals (TTIs) may be used for communications between a base station and user equipment (UE), where each TTI may have a data pattern scheduled by a base station. Each TTI may include respective symbol periods designated as reference or data symbol periods. In some examples, the UE may be configured to transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) in a last symbol period of a TTI, and a base station may dynamically determine a data pattern for the TTI such that a temporally last symbol period is immediately preceded by a reference symbol period (e.g., based on the presence of the SRS). In such cases, the UE may configure a transient time within the preceding reference symbol period to avoid signal degradation of the SRS (or data transmitted within the same TTI).

Dynamic scheduling of data patterns for shortened transmission time intervals

A method for wireless communication is disclosed that includes selecting a plurality of probabilities for a symbol based on a bit-to-symbol mapping; calculating a conditional mean of the symbol based on the plurality of probabilities; and, generating a signal representative of the symbol based on the conditional mean of the symbol. Method and apparatus for soft symbol determination

Methods and apparatuses for data aided channel quality estimation using both pilot and data information are disclosed herein. In one exemplary aspect, a method for estimating channel quality in a wireless communication system is disclosed. The method comprises estimating a pilot noise variance based on a pilot signal received from a base station on a downlink and estimating a data noise variance based on a data signal received from the base station on the downlink. The method also comprises combining the pilot noise variance and the data noise variance to obtain a combined noise variance, and estimating the channel quality based on the combined noise variance.
