A blood pressure monitor including a manually operable pressurizer is disclosed. The blood pressure monitor may include a cuff configured to apply a pressure to a target portion of a body of a user, a pressurizer, a depressurizer, and a sensor to measure a blood pressure. The pressurizer may include a rotator, and be configured to supply a fluid to the cuff, to cause the cuff to apply the pressure, through rotation of the rotator caused by an external rotational force applied to the blood pressure monitor to rotate the rotator. The depressurizer may be configured to reduce the applied pressure applied by the cuff to the target portion.

A pressurizing apparatus includes a lower frame and an upper frame. A method, medium, and apparatus extracting avatar parameters using an avatar transformation algorithm from health state information measured from a user and generating an avatar using the extracted parameters. In the apparatus, a state analysis unit receives at least one among a bio-signal and questionary information of a user and outputs health state information, a parameter extraction unit extracts parameters defining an avatar image, and an avatar generation unit generates the avatar image using the parameters. By providing the method, medium, and apparatus, it is possible to provide a user with a convenience in recognizing his health state by generating an avatar image describing the user's future health state as well as the user's current health state. Further, it is possible to induce a user to manage his health constantly by maintaining a user's with the avatar image change.

A health care apparatus and method are provided. The apparatus includes: a motion sensing unit; a bio-electric potential sensing unit sensing an electric potential signal of the health examinee corresponding to the sensed result; and an analysis unit analyzing the sensed result. By recognizing a current motion of the examinee and sensing an electric potential signal corresponding to the recognized current motion from the examinee, a more reliable health index of the examinee can be calculated. Even when information on the current motion of the health examinee is not given, the current motion can be recognized by the apparatus and method. Furthermore, since the health examinee is notified of the calculated health index in real time, the health examinee can be informed immediately if the physical condition is in an emergency state. As a result, the examinee can respond quickly to the emergency situation.

A health care apparatus and method thereof. The health care apparatus comprises: a sensing position determining unit determining a body part of an examinee where vital signals of the examinee are sensed; a vital potential sensing unit sensing potential signals of the examinee corresponding to a determined result; and an analyzing unit analyzing the sensed result. Accordingly, the health care apparatus can determine body parts by itself and senses potential signals corresponding to the body parts to calculate reliable measurements without information of the body parts to which the health care apparatus is attached. Furthermore, the health care apparatus can be easily attached to the body compared to a conventional health care apparatus, and can calculate a health index reflecting the present behavior pattern of the examinee. The health care apparatus can also determine the health state of local body parts of the examinee and inform the examinee of the calculated health indexes on a real-time basis.
