The display device includes a light emitting substrate which comprises a base and a light emitting element disposed on the base; an encapsulation substrate which is disposed on the light emitting substrate; a frit which surrounds the light emitting element and is disposed between the light emitting substrate and the encapsulation substrate; and a first coating layer which is disposed between the encapsulation substrate and the frit, and comprises a compound having an intramolecular *&#x2014;(OCHCH)&#x2014;OH structure, and at least partially contacting the frit.

A display device includes a substrate having a display region and a non-display region disposed at one side of the display region, the display region includes first and second areas adjacent to each other; a display unit disposed on a front surface of the substrate, the display unit including a plurality of pixels for displaying an image; a cushion layer disposed on a rear surface of the substrate, the cushion layer including a first opening portion corresponding to the first area; a fingerprint sensor provided in the first opening portion of the cushion layer, the fingerprint sensor sensing a fingerprint of a user; and a first light-blocking layer disposed on a rear surface of the substrate, the first light-blocking layer covering at least part of the cushion layer and a lower surface of the fingerprint sensor.

A display device according to one or more embodiments includes: a display panel including a plurality of pixels; a connector attached to the display panel; a display drive unit mounted on the connector; a touch sensor arranged over the display panel; a first adhesive layer between the touch sensor and the display panel; a window arranged over the touch sensor; and a second adhesive layer between the window and the touch sensor. A horizontal distance between the second adhesive layer and the display drive unit may be equal to or less than a horizontal distance between the display panel and the display drive unit.

A display device includes a first substrate that is non-rectangular and includes a display area having a plurality of pixels and a non-display area located around the display area, a second substrate that faces the first substrate and overlaps part of the first substrate, an integrated circuit that provides a driving signal to the pixels, and a first pad to which a flexible printed circuit board that delivers an external signal is coupled and which is electrically connected to the integrated circuit. The non-display area of the first substrate includes a first area that extends in a first direction and is exposed from the second substrate and a second area that extends in a second direction different from the first direction and is exposed from the second substrate. The integrated circuit is located in the first area. The first pad is located in the second area.

A portable display device is provided. The portable display device includes a liquid crystal display panel for displaying an image, a back light assembly having a light source for supplying light to the liquid crystal display panel, and a bottom chassis for supporting the back light assembly. The sides of the bottom chassis have an I-beam shaped or C-beam shaped cross-section.
