This disclosure relates to polymer compositions comprising blends of polyesters and phosphonate oligomers or polymers as well as methods of making them and articles of manufacture made from such blends.

Blends of polyesters and phosphonate oligomers and polymers

Epoxy containing phosphonate monomers, polymers, copolymers, oligomers and co-oligomers and methods for making the same are describes herein. These materials can be used to make polymers, and can be combined with other polymers, oligomers or monomer mixtures to make resins with excellent fire resistance that can be used in a variety of industrial and consumer products.

Phosphorus containing epoxy compounds and compositions therefrom

Epoxy resin compositions that include oligomeric phosphonates, carbodiimides, carbodiimides and phenolic antioxidants or phosphite antioxidants, oligomeric phosphonates and carbodiimides, or oligomeric phosphonates, carbodiimides, and phenolic antioxidants or phosphite antioxidants and exhibit improved glass transition temperature, improved heat resistance, and improved flame retardancy are described herein.

Epoxy compositions

Predominately amino terminated phosphonamide oligomers and their use as flame retardant additives in polyamides and copolyamides without detracting from melt processability are described herein. Other important properties such as strength, modulus, dyeing and thermal stability are maintained.

Flame retardant polyamide compositions

Polyester co-polyphosphonates including of phosphonates covalently incorporated with polyesters and methods for making such polyester co-polyphosphonates are described herein. The polyester co-phosphonates and compositions prepared from these compounds exhibit an excellent combination of processing characteristics, mechanical and fire resistant properties.
