The non-aqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, a separator disposed between the positive electrode and the negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode includes a molded body including Si-containing negative electrode active material particles and a conductive agent. The conductive agent includes a first conductive agent and a fibrous second conductive agent. The first conductive agent covers at least a portion of the surface of the Si-containing negative electrode active material particles, and the second conductive agent is in contact with at least two Si-containing negative electrode active material particles with the first conductive agent on the surface thereof.

Coin-type non-aqueous electrolyte battery

A non-aqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention includes a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The negative electrode includes a molded body made by compression molding a granulated material containing a negative electrode active material, a conductive agent, and a binder. The negative electrode active material includes a Si-containing material. Volume-based 90% particle size R (D) of the negative electrode active material, volume-based 10% particle size Rz (D) and 90% particle size Rz (D) of the granulated material, and thickness T of the molded body satisfy the following relation formulae: (i) R (D)&#x3c;Rz (D), (ii) Rz (D)&#x3c;T, (iii) 34 &#x3bc;m&#x2266;Rz (D)&#x2266;126 &#x3bc;m, and (iv) 128 &#x3bc;m&#x2266;Rz (D)&#x2266;285 &#x3bc;m, and the electric conductivity of the granulated material is 0.05 S/cm or more when the density of the granulated material is 0.9 g/cm.

Non-aqueous electrolyte battery and producing method thereof

A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery including a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and a non-aqueous electrolyte. The positive electrode includes a positive electrode active material that comprises a lithium-containing manganese oxide, and the negative electrode includes a negative electrode active material that comprises silicon and a transition metal element. When the battery voltage is 0 V, the positive electrode and the negative electrode have a potential of 1.8 V or higher relative to lithium metal (Li/Li). Since the deterioration of the positive and negative electrode active materials is suppressed, this non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery has both high capacity and excellent deep discharge cycle life.

An organic electrolyte battery of this invention includes: a positive electrode comprising a positive electrode active material; a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode active material; an organic electrolyte comprising at least an organic solvent and a solute dissolved in the organic solvent; and an additive that suppresses an increase in internal resistance. The additive includes at least one of phthalazone and a phthalazone derivative. The addition of the additive to the battery suppresses an increase in internal resistance upon storage and upon charge/discharge cycling, thereby making it possible to improve the storage characteristics and charge/discharge cycle characteristic of the battery.
