A method of producing a feather containing resilient body to be used for a padding or a trim cover of a vehicular seat. The method is as follows: First, a predetermined amount of feathers is coated with water and prepolymer of polyurethane resin. The coated feathers are put into a mold to form a mass of feathers. In the mold, the feather mass is adjusted in thickness and heated so that the polyurethane resin prepolymer is hardened.

Method of making a feather containing resilient body

A method of molding a skin-covered foamed article is disclose. The method includes the steps of (a) preparing a mold assembly has a lower mold which has a cavity formed therein and an upper mold which is adapted to be put on the lower mold to close the cavity, the lower mold including a fixed mold part which has around the bottom of the cavity a seat portion and a movable mold part which has a peripheral portion which is adapted to be seated on the seat portion; (b) preparing a bag-shaped outer skin member; (c) lining one surface of the bag-shaped outer skin member with a film to provide a film-lined bag-shaped outer skin member; (d) putting the film-lined bag-shaped outer skin member on the movable mold part in such a manner that the film constitutes an outermost layer of the outer skin member on the movable mold part and that at least the peripheral portion of the movable mold part is covered with the film; (e) moving the movable mold part to its operative position having the peripheral portion of the movable mold part intimately seated on the seat portion of the fixed mold with an interposal of the film therebetween; (f) pouring a liquid foamable material for foamed plastic into the cavity; and (g) putting the upper mold onto the lower mold to close the cavity and curing the foamable material.

Method of molding skin-covered foamed article

A method of molding a skin-covered foamed plastic article, which includes by steps putting a bag-shaped outer skin member into a cavity of a lower mold, the skin member including an outer layer and a porous inner layer lined on the outer layer; putting a first upper mold on said lower mold to close the cavity; fastening the lower and first upper molds together with a first fastening force; pouring a foamable plastic material into the bag-shaped outer skin member in the cavity and curing the same; removing the first upper mold from the lower mold after the material is hardened to a certain degree; putting a second upper mold on the lower mold to define a given space therebetween; fastening the lower and second upper molds together with a second fastening force which is greater than the first fastening force; and pouring the foamable plastic material into the given space and curing the same.

Method of molding skin-covered foamed plastic article

Disclosed herein is a mold assembly for molding a plastic article having a recess formed therein. The mold assembly includes a lower mold having a cavity formed therein; an upper mold adapted to be put on the lower mold to close the cavity; a core adapted to be put in the cavity; positioning means including a first member connected to a given portion of the cavity of the lower mold and a second member connected to the core, the first and second members being coupled when mated; and guide means for guiding the core in a manner to facilitate the mating of the second member with the first member.
