A cylindrical base for a photosensitive drum composed of a conductive resin composition containing a resin base material and a conductive material mainly containing carbon black, on which base a solvent-using photosensitive layer is directly formed, is characterized in that the resin base material mainly contains a mixed resin wherein (A) a polyester resin and (B) a polycarbonate resin is blended at a ratio (weight ratio) of (A)/(B)=50/50 to 90/10. The base for a photosensitive drum is excellent in chemical resistance, formability, dimensional accuracy, and adhesion to the photosensitive layer, while being excellent in dimensional stability. A photosensitive drum using such a base exhibits good printing performance and excellent durability.

There are disclosed a multi-color injection molding process for producing an ink-jet printer member comprising a plastics substrate and an elastic material layer that are integrally composited, which comprises melt-injecting into a mold in turn, a material for a plastics substrate and an elastic material composed of a thermoplastic elastomer; and an insert molding process for producing the ink-jet printer member mentioned above, which comprises placing in advance, a plastics substrate of a prescribed form in a mold, and melt-injecting an elastic material composed of a thermoplastic elastomer into said plastics substrate. The above processes are well suited for the production of the ink-jet printer member such as an ink tank valve for supplying a recording head with an ink to be filled in an ink chamber, also of a sealing member which is installed at an ink supply port or on the main body of an ink-jet printer and prevents an ink from leaking through the ink supply port or through the recording head.

There are disclosed a resin composition which is excellent in rubber elasticity, oil maintainability and adhesivity to a metal, and comprises a thermoplastic elastomer composition comprising a (a1) hydrogenated block copolymer which is obtained by hydrogenating a block copolymer consisting essentially of a polymer block composed principally of a vinyl aromatic compound and a polymer block composed principally of a conjugated diene compound, which has a weight average molecular weight of at least 200,000, in which the polymer block composed principally of a vinyl aromatic compound is polystyrene, and in which the content by weight of the polystyrene moiety contained in the hydrogenated block copolymer is 20 to 40%; a (b1) non-aromatic rubber-softening agent having a kinematic viscosity at 40&deg; C. of at least 300 mm s ; and a (c1) modified polyolefinic resin, the resin composition having a hardness according to JIS K6253 of at most 50 degrees and a compression set according to JIS K6262 of at most 50%; a composite molded body of a metal and the thermo-plastic elastomer composition such as a gasket integrated with a metallic sheet; and processes for producing the above products.

There is disclosed a fluid supply valve comprising a disc-shaped valve body which is equipped with a fluid supply port in the central portion thereof and composed of an elastic material whose peripheral portion is reinforced and fixed with a rigid material, the fluid supply port being closed when the valve body abuts against a fixed valve seat placed so as to be opposite to the fluid supply port, and being opened when the valve body is separated from the fixed valve seat, wherein the disc shaped valve body is equipped further with a thin walled portion in the intermediate annular portion between the fluid supply port and the peripheral portion in the radial direction, and/or with an inflectional portion in the radial direction between the fluid supply port and the peripheral portion. According to the above constitution, it is made possible to minimize the reaction force at the time of the deformation of the valve body and thus to provide an ink tank valve capable of favorably supplying a recording head with a proper amount of ink.

There are disclosed a thermoplastic elastomer composition which comprises (a) a hydrogenated block copolymer obtained by hydrogenating the block copolymer comprising at least one polymer block composed principally of a vinylic aromatic compound and at least one polymer block composed principally of a conjugated diene compound; (b) a non-aromatic base softening agent having a kinematic viscosity at 40&deg; C. of at least 100 mm /sec; and (c) propylene homopolymer and/or propylene copolymer comprising propylene as a principal component which is obtained through polymerization by using a metallocene catalyst, which is free from a lubricant, which has been heat treated, or which has a MFR (melt flow rate) in a specific range; a gasket material which comprises the above thermoplastic elastomer composition and is particularly suited for use in hard disc units because of its excellent sealing properties and its capability of preventing gas generation; a method for injection molding the above composition; an external anti-sticking agent for a thermoplastic elastomer or rubber which comprises fine particulates of ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene having an average particle diameter in a specific range, and which is minimized in hygroscopicity, oil absorptivity and volatility, and has high heat resistance and anti-stickiness; and rubber and/or a thermoplastic elastomer which is incorporated with the above external anti-sticking agent and imparted with anti-stickiness.

A multi-color injection molding process for producing an ink-jet printer member having a plastic substrate and an elastic material layer that are integrally composited, by melt-injecting into a mold in turn, a material for a plastic substrate and an elastic material composed of a thermoplastic elastomer. The above process is well suited for the production of the ink-jet printer member such as an ink tank valve for supplying a recording head with an ink to be filled in an ink chamber, also of a sealing member which is installed at an ink supply port or on the main body of an ink-jet printer and prevents an ink from leaking through the ink supply port or through the recording head.

The invention relates to a photosensitive drum based on a cylindrical base which is made with an electrically conductive resin composition which comprises a polyamide resin as the resin component and an electrically conductive material, said polyamide resin being one selected from the group consisting of polyamide resins obtained from m-xylylenediamine and adipic acid, polyamide resins obtained from &egr;-caprolactam, and mixtures thereof. The cylindrical base for the photosensitive drum has good surface smoothness as well as good mechanical strength, and it can be obtained easily by injection molding or the like from said resin composition.

Disclosed is a photosensitive drum including: a cylindrical base body with a photosensitive layer formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof; and flanges respectively provided on both end surfaces of the cylindrical base body, the flanges being rotatably supported for rotatably supporting the photosensitive drum; wherein the cylindrical base body is molded from a conductive resin, and one of the flanges is molded from the conductive resin integrally with the cylindrical base body. The photosensitive drum, which contributes to a reduction in manufacturing cost by simplifying the manufacturing process and to improvement in reliability, is provided.
