A region of a hole-inner circumferential surface composing a portion defining a terminal through-hole, the region being located on the battery case cover side, include a tapered surface gradually enlarged in diameter as extending toward the battery case cover side and opening toward the battery case cover side; when riveting is carried out, a region of a shaft portion, the region being located inward of the tapered surface, is enlarged in diameter so as to form an annular projecting portion in contact with the tapered surface; and a hole circumferential portion located around the portion defining the terminal through-hole is held between the external enlarged-diameter portion and the annular projecting portion so as to fix a first terminal member to a second terminal member.

A text character input device for inputting a text character selectively from text characters displayed on a display screen is provided. The text character input device includes an area storage that stores positions of areas in the display screen, a text character storage that stores inputtable text characters assigned to any of the areas, a visual line detector that detects a position of a user's visual line in the display screen; a text character display that deploys and displays the text characters assigned to an area when the user's visual line is present within the area; and a text character selector that selects an input text character from the displayed text characters in accordance with a user's operation.

Text character input device and text character input method

A vehicular display input apparatus includes a gesture detection unit, a determiner, and a controller. The gesture detection unit detects a gesture made by a hand of the driver. The determiner determines whether a visual line of the driver is directed within a visual line detection area, which is preliminarily defined to include at least partial display region. The controller switches to one of operations listed in an operation menu, which is to be correlated with the gesture, according to a determination result of the determiner. The determination result indicates whether the visual line is directed within the visual line detection area.

Vehicular display input apparatus

A visual line input apparatus selects an input element objected to be inputted by a visual line, and includes a head-up display device and a visual line detector. The head-up display device displays a plurality of input image elements in front of a windshield and a display region virtually arranged in front of a driving seat in a vehicle. The visual line detector is arranged in front of the driving seat and detects a gazing point made by a driver who sits on the driving seat. The head-up display device displays the plurality of input element images on the display region, and does not display the outer part of the input element image displayed at an end portion of the display region.

A battery includes an external terminal member and an insulating member on an outer surface of a lid member so that an interval between the insulating member and the lid member is smaller in a long side of the lid member than in a short side. A weld mark is formed over the entire circumference of the lid member to extend across the outer surface of the lid member and an open end face of the case body. The weld mark not only extends across the outer surface of the lid member and the open end face of the case body but also reaches an outer side surface of the case body in a zone of the long side of the lid member facing the insulating member, but does not reach the outer side surface of the case body in a zone except the former zone.

A sealed battery includes a battery case with a liquid inlet, a power generating element in the case, a lid member closing the liquid inlet and having a peripheral edge welded to the case over the entire circumference, a circular groove in the outer surface of the case and around the entire periphery of the liquid inlet, a peripheral portion provided over the entire periphery of a portion in the back surface of the lid member facing the liquid inlet, and a protrusion partially placed around the liquid inlet between the circular groove and the peripheral portion to form a clearance between the circular groove and the peripheral portion. The space facing the inner surface in a portion melted during welding between the peripheral edge and the case is continuous to the liquid inlet through a clearance formed by the protrusion between the circular groove and the peripheral portion.
