An endoscope includes an opto-electric composite module, an optical fiber, and a plurality of electric cables each including a core wire and a shielding wire. The opto-electric composite module includes a light emitting device, a wiring board including a plurality of bonding electrodes to which the plurality of core wires are bonded, a ferrule causing the optical fiber inserted into a first through hole to be optically coupled to the light emitting device, and a cable holder having grooves to which the plurality of core wires are fixed with the plurality of core wires so disposed as to be bonded to the plurality of respective bonding electrodes. The cable holder is a holder conductor electrically connected to a ground potential electrode of the image pickup device, and the shielding wires in the electric cables are bonded to the holder conductor of the cable holder via an electrically conductive member.

An optical transmission module includes: an optical fiber a cross section of which has a circular shape and an end surface of which is an inclined surface; and an optical element part including an optical element, wherein a cutout surface extending in an optical axis direction is formed in an outer circumference of an end portion of the optical fiber, and the angle of the inclined surface with respect to the main surface of the optical element is defined by the cutout surface, such that light guided through the optical fiber is optically coupled to the optical element.

An optical module includes an optical element, a first substrate, on a first principal plane of which the optical element is mounted, a holding member disposed on a second principal plane of the first substrate, an optical fiber inserted into a through hole of the holding member, a holding substrate with an opening, a wall surface of which is in contact with an outer peripheral surface of the holding member, an interconnecting substrate connecting the first substrate and the holding substrate, a side surface substrate, an end portion of which is connected to the holding substrate and on which an electrode is disposed, and a signal cable, a distal end portion of which is bonded to the electrode of the side surface substrate.

An image pickup module includes: an optical waveguide plate that includes a first waveguide, a second waveguide, and a third waveguide optically coupled to the first waveguide and the second waveguide through a branch portion; an image pickup device; a first optical device and a second optical device both mounted on the optical waveguide plate; an optical fiber; a ferrule into which the optical fiber is inserted; and a plurality of conductive wires. The ferrule includes a notch on a front surface, and distal end portions of the conductive wires are held between the optical waveguide plate and a surface of the notch of the ferrule. The other components are disposed within a plane of projection of the image pickup device.

Image pickup module and endoscope

An endoscope includes an insertion section in which a rigid distal end portion, a bending section for changing a direction of the rigid distal end portion, and a flexible portion are concatenated and an optical fiber that transmits an optical signal, the optical fiber being inserted through an inside of the insertion section. The rigid distal end portion is provided with an image pickup device, an optical element that converts an electric signal outputted by the image pickup device into the optical signal, a holding member including a through-hole, into which a distal end portion of the optical fiber is inserted, and a wiring board on which the optical element is mounted and to which the holding member is joined. The optical fiber is inserted through a center of the bending section.

An optical transmission module includes a light emitting device for transmitting a first optical signal, a light receiving device for receiving a second optical signal, an optical fiber for guiding a third optical signal in which the first optical signal and the second optical signal are coupled, and an optical waveguide substrate having an optical waveguide made of first resin, wherein a groove formed on the optical waveguide substrate is provided with a prism having the optical fiber and a reflective face through which the first optical signal transmit, a first side face of the prism contacts a first wall face of the groove, and a second side face thereof contacts a second wall face of the groove.

A capsule endoscope includes: an in vivo information acquiring section that acquires information on an inside of a body of a subject; a battery that supplies power; a power source switch that turns on/off power supply from the battery to the in vivo information acquiring section; a detection section that includes at least two electrodes disposed on an outer face of a casing, and, upon detection of introduction to the inside of the body of the subject based on a change in electric resistance between the electrodes, outputs a detection signal; and a control section that controls the power source switch according to the detection signal.
