To mitigate a bending stress in the flexible wiring substrate in a structure, a display panel, to which the flexible wiring substrate connects, is curved along a first direction, and the flexible wiring is bent back to the rear of the display panel. The flexible wiring substrate connects with the display panel at a first region and at a second region; the flexible wiring substrate connects with the wiring substrate at a third region and at a fourth region. The flexible wiring substrate has a narrowest width in the first direction at an intermediate region between the display panel and the wiring substrate. A first wiring group in the flexible wiring substrate connects the first region with the third region or the fourth region, a second wiring group in the flexible wiring substrate connects the second region with another one of the third region or the fourth region.

Display device and electronic device

Provided is a mounting structure for a transparent liquid crystal display device that is placed in a glass window in which a periphery of a first glass plate is accommodated in and held by a first frame member. In the mounting structure, the transparent liquid crystal display device is affixed to the first glass plate by a transparent adhesive sheet and has a display region and a terminal region. The terminal region is accommodated in the first frame member, and a light source including an LED and a driver IC are placed in the terminal region. A heat conduction sheet is placed between the light source and the driver IC on one hand and the first frame member on the other hand and is acted upon by pressure by which the heat conduction sheet is pressed against the light source and the driver IC.

Mounting structure for transparent liquid crystal display device

According to one embodiment, a flexible substrate includes a first protective member including a first surface, a line portion including a flexible insulating base located on the first surface and a wiring layer disposed on the insulating base and a second protective member covering the line portion, and the first protective member includes a valley portion and a peak portion in the first surface, and the line portion is formed in a wavy shape and located on the valley portion and the peak portion.

The purpose of the invention is to realize the display whose screen is seen as floating in the transparent medium. The present invention, for example, takes a following structure. The purpose of the invention is to counter measure a disconnection between the driver IC and the terminal when the terminal area of the electronic device is curved. One of the structures is as follows. An electronic device comprising: a driver IC installed in a terminal area, the terminal area being curved, wherein the driver IC has a circuit and plural bumps, the driver IC has a tapered portion formed on an opposite surface from a surface that the plural bumps are formed, the tapered portion overlaps with an outer most bump of the plural bumps.

Electronic device and manufacturing method thereof and manufacturing method of driver IC

In a liquid crystal display device having a display region defined by an area where a TFT substrate and an opposing substrate are superposed on each other, the present invention realizes a structure for avoiding breakage of a mechanically weak terminal section where the TFT substrate only extends. The terminal section where the TFT substrate only extends is mounted on a resin mold. Inside the resin mold, partition walls are formed to accommodate LEDs. By providing two partition walls in a pair at least in a center portion, an external pressure exerted on the center portion of the resin mold is distributed between the two partition walls and a maximum stress exerted on the terminal section of the TFT substrate is reduced.
