A discharge device according to the present disclosure includes a discharge electrode and a voltage applicator that applies a voltage to the discharge electrode and thus causes discharge that is further developed from corona discharge at the discharge electrode. The discharge is discharge in which a discharge path is intermittently formed by dielectric breakdown so as to stretch from the discharge electrode to a surrounding. This discharge can be called leader discharge. This makes it possible to increase an amount of generated active component while keeping an increase of ozone small.

A generating method for generating one of mist and fine-bubbles or fine-bubbles is provided. The generating method includes arranging a piezoelectric substrate equipped thereon with an excitation source in a liquid, generating a flow of the liquid using a liquid flow generator that generates the flow of the liquid relative to the piezoelectric substrate, exciting a surface acoustic wave on the excitation source, propagating the excited surface acoustic wave so as to generate mist on a gas side and to generate fine-bubbles on a liquid side of the piezoelectric substrate, carrying the generated fine-bubbles away from the piezoelectric substrate with the generated flow of the liquid, and drawing the liquid containing the fine-bubbles from a liquid container which contains the liquid.

Generating method and generator for generating mist or fine-bubble by using surface acoustic wave

An electrostatic atomizing device of the present disclosure includes a discharge electrode, a counter electrode, a liquid supplying unit, a current path, a voltage applicator, and a limiting resistor. The limiting resistor is disposed on a first current path or a second current path included in the current path. The first current path electrically connects the voltage applicator and the counter electrode, and the second current path electrically connects the voltage applicator and the discharge electrode. This makes it possible to increase an amount of generated radicals while keeping an increase of ozone small. In addition, an electric current peak of an instantaneous electric current can be kept small.

Electrostatic atomizing device

A surface acoustic wave atomizer includes a piezoelectric substrate which has a pattern electrode on a surface and a liquid supply member for supplying a liquid to the surface and atomizes the liquid supplied to the surface by surface acoustic wave, and between the liquid supply member and the surface of the piezoelectric substrate, a small gap is provided in an area which is designed to hold and guide the liquid and a large gap is provided in an area which is not designed to supply the liquid, so that the liquid is supplied to an atomizing area in an area away from the pattern electrode in the surface of the piezoelectric substrate by using a difference in surface tension due to sizes of the gaps. The liquid can be supplied stably by the small gap and a distribution of the liquid can be limited by the large gap.

Surface acoustic wave atomizer

Atomization apparatus is configured to produce mist by atomizing liquid after electrolysis to discharge the mist. The apparatus includes a substrate, an electrolysis device and a vibration device. The substrate includes: a liquid receiving part having a liquid storage surface; and a reservoir having a discharge surface. The electrolysis device has an anode and a cathode located at the liquid receiving part. The reservoir holds the liquid after electrolysis obtained from one of the anode and the cathode. The discharge surface is located at the side of the one of the anode and the cathode. The vibration device is configured to vibrate and atomize the liquid after electrolysis held at the reservoir.

In an energy recovery type surface acoustic wave motor, an increase in energy efficiency at the time of energy recovery and supply is achieved by adjusting phase change. A surface acoustic wave motor comprises: a surface acoustic wave substrate; a slider provided with an applied pressure; a driving interdigital electrode connected to an external power supply for generating a driving surface acoustic wave on a surface so as to drive the slider by a frictional force which is generated on a contact surface of the slider with the surface acoustic wave substrate based on the surface acoustic wave and the applied pressure; recovery interdigital electrodes placed forward and backward in the direction of travel of the surface acoustic wave for recovering energy of a surface acoustic wave unused to drive the slider, and for using that energy to generate a surface acoustic wave; and phase adjusting means for matching the phase of a surface acoustic wave generated by the recovery interdigital electrodes to the phase of the driving surface acoustic wave generated by the driving interdigital electrode.
