A thin optical device having high light utilization efficiency and less chromatic aberration and a small electronic device including the optical device are provided. The thin optical device includes a first reflective polarizing plate, a lens, an optical rotator, a retardation plate, and a second reflective polarizing plate. The optical device can be a thin optical device by rotation of the polarization plane of linearly polarized light with the optical rotator and utilization of a property of selectively reflecting circularly polarized light of the second reflective polarizing plate. Furthermore, the optical device does not use a half mirror and thus has a property of high light utilization efficiency. When the second reflective polarizing plate has a layered structure, chromatic aberration of an optical system can be reduced.

Optical device and electronic device

An electronic device capable of detecting a user's body movements is to be provided. The electronic device is display equipment worn in front of the user's eye and capable of detecting the blinking action. The electronic device includes a display apparatus and a light source in a housing, and the display apparatus includes a light-emitting device and a light-receiving device in a display portion. Light emitted by the light source is incident on the user's eye and the vicinity thereof through a mirror and reflected, and the reflected light is detected by the light-receiving device. The amount of light reflected by the eyelid and that by the eyeball are different from each other, which enables the blinking action to be detected. The detection of the blinking action enables the user's fatigue state to be estimated.

Electronic device with display apparatus having light-emitting device and light-receiving device over insulating layer

An electronic device that can easily increase the viewing angle and has a reduced screen-door effect is provided. In the electronic device, images displayed on a display panel with a low pixel density and a display panel with a high pixel density are synthesized to be seen. The electronic device includes a first display panel that has a relatively large screen size and a low pixel density, and a second display panel and a third display panel each of which has a relatively small screen size and a high pixel density. The electronic device is configured such that visual information enters the central field of view from the second display panel or the third display panel and visual information enters the peripheral field of view from the first display panel. Such a configuration can easily increase the viewing angle and reduce the screen-door effect.

Electronic device

A semiconductor device includes a sensor circuit including a sensor element, and a processing unit comprising a power management unit and an arithmetic processing circuit. The power management unit has a function of controlling power supply to the arithmetic processing circuit. The sensor circuit has a function of judging a sensed signal of the sensor element and supplying an interrupt signal to the processing unit in accordance with the judgment result. The power management unit has a function of restarting or stopping power supply to the arithmetic processing circuit in accordance with the interrupt signal.

Semiconductor device and control system

Employed is a method for manufacturing a display device, including: forming a plurality of transistors in a matrix over a substrate (), forming conductors () electrically connected to the transistors over the substrate (), and forming a plurality of light-emitting elements () in a matrix over a film (). Each of the light-emitting elements () includes electrodes () on one surface and the other surface is in contact with the film (). The conductors () and the electrodes () are opposed to each other. An extrusion mechanism () is pushed out from the film () side to the substrate () side so that the conductors () and the electrodes () are in contact with each other, whereby the conductors () and the electrodes () are electrically connected to each other.

Method for manufacturing display device and display device manufacturing apparatus

A semiconductor device having favorable display quality is provided. The semiconductor device is provided with a display portion, a line-of-sight sensor portion, a control portion, and an arithmetic portion. The line-of-sight sensor portion has a function of obtaining first information showing a direction of a user's line of sight. The arithmetic portion has a function of determining a first region including a gaze point of the user on the display portion with use of the first information and a function of increasing a definition of an image displayed on the first region. Light emitted from the display portion may be used to obtain the first information showing the direction of the line of sight.

Semiconductor device and electronic device

An electronic device including a large display region and with improved portability is provided. An electronic device with improved reliability is provided. An information processing device includes a first film, a panel substrate, and at least a first housing. The panel substrate has flexibility and a display region, and the first film has a visible-light-transmitting property and flexibility. The first housing includes a first slit, the panel substrate includes a region positioned between the first film and a second film, the first slit has a function of storing the region, and one or both of the panel substrate and the first film can slide along the first slit.

Information processing device, display device, and electronic device

A display device with a high luminance, a high contrast, and low power consumption is provided. The display device includes a transistor, a light-emitting element, a coloring layer, a phosphor layer, a first electrode, and a second electrode. The light-emitting element is electrically connected to the first electrode and the second electrode, the first electrode is electrically connected to the transistor, and the second electrode is positioned on the same plane as the first electrode. The coloring layer is positioned over the light-emitting element, the phosphor layer is positioned between the light-emitting element and the coloring layer, and the phosphor layer, the light-emitting element, and the coloring layer include a region in which they overlap with one another. The light-emitting element includes a light-emitting diode chip, and the phosphor layer has a function of emitting light of a complementary color of an emission color of the light-emitting element.

Display device

An optical device with less influence of stray light is provided. The optical device is thin and includes a half mirror, a first lens, a retardation plate, a reflective polarizing plate, and a second lens. In the optical device, a geometric phase lens which has negative and positive refractive power is used as the first lens, whereby images can be focused after magnified optically. Thus, the optical device can have a wide viewing angle. In the case where stray light occurs due to birefringence of an optical material, negative refractive power of the first lens can prevent the stray light from being focused on the eye direction. Accordingly, image degradation recognized due to stray light can be prevented.

A display device with high resolution is provided. Manufacturing cost of a display device using a micro LED as a display element is reduced. The display device includes a substrate, a plurality of transistors, and a plurality of light-emitting diodes. The plurality of light-emitting diodes are provided in a matrix over the substrate. Each of the plurality of transistors are electrically connected to at least one of the plurality of light-emitting diodes. The plurality of light-emitting diodes are positioned closer to the substrate than the plurality of transistors are. The plurality of light-emitting diodes emit light to the opposite side of the substrate.

Display device, display module, electronic device, and method for fabricating display device

A plurality of display panels having a curved surface are placed in a limited space. Two, or three or more display panels are combined to form one display region having a T-shaped outer edge as one screen, and a driver can curve part of the display panel as appropriate so that the driver can see the screen easily. A first display panel or a second display panel has flexibility and includes a position adjustment function of curving an end portion. That is, by curving part of the display panel, the user can see the display panel easily. The in-car design can also be varied.

Display device and manufacturing method thereof

An electronic device capable of efficiently recognizing a handwritten character is provided. The electronic device includes a first circuit, a display portion, and a touch sensor. The first circuit includes a neural network. The display portion includes a flexible display. The touch sensor has the function of outputting an input handwritten character as image information to the first circuit. The first circuit has the function of analyzing the image information and converting the image information into character information, and a function of displaying an image including the character information on the display portion. The analysis is performed by inference through the use of the neural network.
