There is provided with a video reproducing apparatus, including: an access unit configured to access a storage medium holding a plurality of video scenes; an external device search unit configured to search for an external device which can communicate; a scene selecting unit configured to select a video scene from the storage medium based on information of the external device found by the external device search unit; and a video reproducing unit configured to read the selected video scene from the storage medium using the access unit and reproduce the video scene.

Video reproducing apparatus, method, and computer readable medium

A control device for controlling a control target device includes a control content acquisition unit, a recognition unit, a device control unit, and a communication unit. The control content acquisition unit acquires control information containing operation instructions and control commands from the control target device and stores the control information in a rewritable form. Each operation instruction corresponds to one of the control commands. The recognition unit recognizes an operation instruction entered by a user. The device control unit carries out a search to check whether the operation instruction recognized by the recognition unit is contained in the control information stored in the control content acquisition unit, and outputs a control command corresponding to the operation instruction when the operation instruction is contained in the control information. The communication unit transmits the control command outputted by the device control unit to the control target device.

Remote controlling device, program and system with control command changing function

A data communication apparatus as a device. A discrimination data of own device is sent. When the discrimination data is received from another device, the discrimination data is stored as a direct communicatable device for the own device. A direct communicatable device list including the stored discrimination data is generated and sent with the discrimination data of the own device. When the direct communicatable device list is received from other device, the direct communicatable device list is stored as an indirect communicatable device for the own device. In response to selection of the discrimination data as a destination address from the discrimination data of the direct communicatable device and the indirect communicatable device, data with the destination address is sent. When the data is received from other device, the destination address of the received data is decided to coincide with the discrimination data of the own device or the direct communicatable device. If the destination address coincides with the discrimination data of the direct communicatable device, the received data is relayed to the direct communicatable device of the destination address.

Data communication apparatus and method

A communication network system has a plurality of communication terminals, each having a first transmitting unit and a first receiving unit. Information is transmitted and received among the communication terminals through the first transmitting unit and the first receiving unit. At least two of the communication terminals are used as relay terminals. Each of the relay terminal has a second transmitting unit and a second receiving unit for performing only one-to-one-type communication. A received-information relay unit transmits information received from the first receiving unit to the second transmitting unit and transmits information received from the second receiving unit to the first transmitting unit. A relay-terminal-information transmitting unit transmits to the first transmitting unit ID information of the relay terminal and ID information of a terminal to which the relay terminal is providing relay services. A storage unit stores the information of the relay terminals and relay situations thereof from relay terminal information received from the first receiving unit. When the relay terminal discontinues the relay services, the presence or the absence of an available relay terminal is determined by referring to the storage unit. If there is an available relay terminal, an instruction is provided to the terminal which is receiving the relay services to change the relay terminal.

Communication network system

A communication device to be used in an ad hoc network environment for enabling the user to utilize an application easily with a desired partner. After a communicable communication device was discovered, a service information provided by the communication device is acquired to display only the selected communication devices in accordance with the service information. The user selects the communication partner and causes the communication device to execute a predetermined application.

A communication equipment automatically interchanges business card information and displays such information on a display, thus making operation by a user for interchanging business card information unnecessary. The communication equipment includes a business card memory, a business card information display, a business card information reception function, a business card information transmission function, a communication equipment detection function, a network transmission/reception function, a storage device, a display and a mouse. When the communication equipment function detection function finds communicable equipment, the communication equipment displays a list of the communicable equipment. The user then starts communication with the desired counterpart. The business card information is automatically interchanged allowing direct input of the business card information to the equipment.

Communication equipment and method for business card information interchange

A communication terminal apparatus is used in a communication system including at least one first terminal having an optical communication section to optically communicate with one other first terminal and at least one second terminal having a network communication section to communicate with a plurality of other second terminals through a network. In the communication terminal apparatus as a relay terminal, an optical communication section optically communicates with the at least one first terminal. A network communication section communicates with the at least one second terminal through the network. A received information sending section sends information received from the optical communication section to the network communication section, and sends information received from the network communication section to the optical communication section.

Communication terminal apparatus and a method

A communication control apparatus according to the present invention has receive means and own terminal identifier setting means. The receive means receives terminal ID information having information of one or more terminal identifiers transmitted from one or more terminals with which communication is being held. Method of controlling a communication and apparatus for the same

A server collects network administration information of terminals connected to the self-segment, assembles the collected network administration information into packets, and transfers the packets to other segments. The server stores the relationship, as a table, between the low-level layer address of each terminal connected to a corresponding segment and the corresponding high-level layer address on the basis of the collected network administration information and the network administration information included in packets transferred from other segments, and performs packet transfer between terminals through the segments by looking up this table.

System and method for controlling communication

Communication control apparatus capable of communicating among plural users when the plural users bring respective equipment into proximity of each other includes a transmission section to transmit terminal discriminating information to discriminate a particular terminal. A receiving section receives terminal discriminating information transmitted by another terminal or terminals. A discrimination section discriminates other terminal(s) capable of communicating with the particular terminal in accordance with the terminal discriminating information received by the receiving section. A group-set section sets one terminal or plural terminals among terminals discriminated by the discrimination means as members of the same group. An information sending section sends the same information to the terminals set by the group-set means.
