A light quantity adjustment apparatus includes a pair of substrates having a light-path aperture; a plurality of diaphragm blades disposed between the pair of substrates; a driving ring that opens and closes the plurality of diaphragm blades; and a driving device. The plurality of diaphragm blades is supported by the substrate via a first guide plate made of a resin film. The substrate and the first guide plate are provided with guide grooves fitted into protrusions formed in the plurality of diaphragm blades to guide the blades. Guide grooves of the substrate are formed of concave grooves. Guide grooves of the first guide plate are formed of through holes. The through holes of the first guide plate have a narrower width than the concave grooves of the substrate to engage in the protrusions of the diaphragm blades and to guide the diaphragm blades in the open and close direction.

An electromagnetically-driving device has a rotor with a hollow, cylindrical permanent magnet; an inside yoke on an internal circumference side of the rotor; an outside yoke on an external circumference side of the rotor; and a coil for magnetically exciting the yokes. The outside yoke has a trough shape, and two opposed magnetic pole-guide pieces, between which magnetic poles of the permanent magnet are sandwiched. The rotor has a bearing portion in the internal circumference wall of the body, and the bearing portion engages a shaft portion of the inside yoke. When a magnetic field is generated by the coil, a rotation force is applied to the rotor, resulting in a structurally-simple magnetic circuit.

A staple cartridge that sequentially draws out rolled staple band material from the staple storage portion includes regulating device that touches the stacked surface of the rolled staple band to regulate the widening and unraveling of the stacked surface. The regulating device is capable of regulating the widening of the stacked surface of the staple band material in the roll diameter direction even during vibration of the cartridge. This minimizes the phenomenon of the staple band material biting to or catching on the staple cartridge.

A stapler apparatus is equipped with linked staples and includes a staple feed member configured for feeding staples to a driving position, a staple driver operable to drive the staples from the driving position into a stack of sheets, and an anvil unit operable to engage and clamp the stack of sheets to be stapled. The staple feed member is powered by movement of the anvil unit.
