An imaging apparatus includes: a reflector which covers an imaging space on a pathway that a human passes through, from at least one of both sides of the pathway, and diffusely reflects a sub-terahertz wave; a first light source which emits a sub-terahertz wave onto the reflector; and a first detector which receives a reflected wave of the sub-terahertz wave emitted from the first light source, diffusely reflected by the reflector, and reflected by the human, and generates an image based on the reflected wave received. The first light source and the first detector are located at a first direction side relative to a center of the imaging space in a direction in which the pathway extends.

Imaging apparatus

An image display device includes a light source unit, a display panel configured to display an image, and a light guide panel configured to guide light emitted from the light source unit to the display panel. The light guide panel has an incident surface facing the light source unit, an output surface facing the display panel, and a bottom surface facing the output surface on a side opposite to the display panel. The incident surface is a side surface of the light guide panel located between the output surface and the bottom surface. The incident surface has a concave portion in which a part of the incident surface is recessed from remaining portions when viewed from a direction perpendicular to a light guide direction of light in the incident surface and an emission direction of light in the output surface.

An imaging apparatus includes: a diffuse-reflector which covers an imaging space on a pathway that a human passes through, from at least a side out of both sides of the pathway, and includes a reflector which diffusely reflects a sub-terahertz wave; a light source which emits a sub-terahertz wave onto the reflector; and a detector which receives a reflected wave of the sub-terahertz wave which has been emitted from the light source, diffusely reflected by the reflector, and reflected by the human, and detects an intensity of the reflected wave received. The diffuse-reflector includes a visible light transmissive area which transmits visible light.

An imaging device includes: a light source including an emission surface from which a sub-terahertz wave is emitted to a measurement target; and a detector including an image sensor that detects the intensity of a reflected wave generated by the measurement target reflecting the sub-terahertz wave emitted from the emission surface.

An imaging device includes: an area light source including an emission surface from which a sub-terahertz wave is emitted to a measurement target; and a detector including an image sensor that receives a reflected wave generated by the measurement target reflecting the sub-terahertz wave emitted from the emission surface. The area light source includes: at least one point light source that emits a sub-terahertz wave; and a reflector that reflects the sub-terahertz wave emitted from the at least one point light source, to generate a sub-terahertz wave to be emitted from the emission surface. The reflector has a reflection surface that is a bumpy surface which includes two or more frequency components in a spatial frequency range and whose roughness curve element mean length RSm is at least 0.3 mm.

A projection device includes: a plurality of light sources arranged in a first direction; a spatial modulation element that modulates incident light into image information and emits the image information; a lens that changes an optical path of light emitted from each of the plurality of light sources such that the light emitted from each light source reaches substantially the same region of an incident surface of the spatial modulation element; and a first reflective optical member that deflects the light emitted from the lens toward the spatial modulation element, the first reflective optical member having a shape that reflects light emitted from the lens so as to be incident on an arbitrary point on the incident surface of the spatial modulation element at a predetermined reference incident angle.

A display device includes a display panel, a plurality of light sources arranged in a first direction orthogonal to a normal direction of the display panel, a light guide panel on which light from a plurality of light sources is incident and including an emission surface that emits light toward the display panel, and a first optical member disposed between the display panel and the light guide panel and including a first surface opposing the emission surface of the light guide panel, a second surface provided opposite to the first surface to oppose the display panel, a Fresnel lens provided on the first surface, and an optical array provided on the second surface. As viewed in at least one of the first direction and a second direction orthogonal to both the normal direction and the first direction, the Fresnel lens emits light passing through a center of the display panel.

Display device, head-up display, and mobile object

A display device includes light sources that emit light, a display panel that displays an image, and a light guide panel that guides the light emitted from the light sources to the display panel. The light guide panel includes an incident surface facing the light sources, an emission surface facing the display panel, a first reflective surface facing the incident surface, and a second reflective surface facing the emission surface. The first reflective surface has a concave shape that reflects light so that the reflected light becomes closer to parallel light when viewed in a facing direction of the display panel and the light guide panel in the light guide panel, is tilted at an angle larger than 0 degrees with respect to the incident surface, and intersects the second reflective surface at an angle smaller than 90 degrees.

An optical unit for guiding a plurality of light beams, includes a plurality of lens portions through which the plurality of light beams are transmitted. The plurality of lens portions are arranged in an arrangement direction that intersects an optical axis direction along which the light beams are transmitted. Each of the lens portions is inclined with respect to a thickness direction intersecting the optical axis direction and the arrangement direction. The optical unit has both end faces in the optical axis direction with a pitch at which the lens portions are arranged in one end face being smaller than a pitch at which the lens portions are arranged in another end face.

Image display device is used in a head-up display. Image display device includes an illumination unit, light guide plate, light beam controller, and display unit. The illumination unit includes a plurality of light sources. Light guide plate includes incident surface into which light from the illumination unit enters, incident surface including a plurality of convex surfaces each of which is opposed to each of the plurality of light sources, and output surface disposed in a direction intersecting incident surface and from which the light incident from incident surface is output. Light beam controller controls a traveling direction of the light output from output surface. Display unit transmits the light output from light beam controller to display an image.

Head-up display includes display device, projection optical system, a polarization member, and a first polarizer. Display device displays an image. Projection optical system includes refraction lens. Projection optical system projects the image displayed on display device to an observer. The polarization member is disposed between projection optical system and a reflection member that reflects light from projection optical system. Transmittance of the polarization member depends on a polarization direction of transmitted light. The first polarizer is disposed behind refraction lens on an optical path starting from display device. The first polarizer rotates a predetermined polarized component by a quarter of wavelength.

Head-up display, and mobile object equipped with head-up display

A head-up display includes an optical system that radiates light forming a projected image toward an eye box. The eye box is a predetermined range in which eyes of an observer are assumed to be present. The optical system includes a Fresnel lens having a bumpy surface having a sawtooth-shaped cross-section. The bumpy surface is formed concentrically around an optical axis, and formed by alternately disposing first surfaces as light condensing surfaces that allow incident light to converge toward a focal point, and second surfaces as wall surfaces that do not allow the incident light to converge toward the focal point. The second surfaces are inclined with respect to the optical axis of the Fresnel lens at an angle to reflect the incident light striking the wall surfaces, in a direction toward outside of a range of the eye box.

Head-up display

Head-up display includes display device and projection optical system. Display device displays an image. Projection optical system includes refraction lens. Projection optical system projects the image displayed on display device to an observer. Refraction lens is disposed while inclined with respect to a reference beam. An incident surface of refraction lens is a concave surface relative to a side of display device in an X-axis direction. A curvature in a Y-axis direction of the incident surface is smaller than a curvature in the X-axis direction.

Free-form surface lens and head-up display

A head-up display projects an image onto an eye-box of an observer. The head-up display includes a plurality of light source elements, liquid crystal panel, first lens, viewpoint detector, and controller. The plurality of light source elements are arranged into an array shape to output light beams. Liquid crystal panel displays the image, and first lens deflects the light beams emitted from the plurality of light source elements such that an identical region in an incident plane of liquid crystal panel is illuminated with the light beams. Viewpoint detector detects a viewpoint position of the observer. Controller controls light intensity of the light source elements according to the viewpoint position detected by viewpoint detector.
