In a liquid crystal display device, in each unit pixel which is formed as a region surrounded by scanning signal lines and date signal lines includes pixel electrode to which signals of the date signal line is electrically supplied through a thin film transistor and common electrode which are electrically connected with the common signal line, and common signal electrode is arranged to be superposed on the common signal line by way of an insulation layer, and the pixel electrode is electrically connected with a source electrode of the thin film transistor via a through hole which penetrates the insulation layer, and the common electrode is formed such that the common electrode extend in the inside of the unit pixel while covering the common signal line.

Liquid crystal display device

In a liquid crystal display device, in each unit pixel which is formed as a region surrounded by scanning signal lines and data signal lines, that is a pixel electrode to which signals of the data signal line are electrically supplied through a thin film transistor, and a common electrode is provided, which is electrically connected with a common signal line. The common electrode is arranged so as to be superposed on the common signal line by way of an insulation layer. The pixel electrode is electrically connected with a source electrode of the thin film transistor via a through hole which penetrates the insulation layer, and the common electrode is formed so as to extend in the inside of the unit pixel, while covering the common signal line.

A liquid crystal display includes a pair of substrates having a first substrate and a second substrate, at least one of the first and second substrate being transparent, a liquid crystal layer and a color filter layer both provided between the pair of substrates, a plurality of thin film transistors provided on the first substrate and connected to an image signal wiring and a scanning signal wiring, a common electrode and a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistors and placed opposite to the common electrode in a pixel region. The common electrode and the pixel electrode are placed in different layers through an interlaminar insulating film in the formed of at least two layers including the color filter layer and an orientation direction of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer is controlled by a voltage applied at least through the interlaminar insulating film.

Liquid crystal display

A liquid crystal display device having a pair of substrates, at least one of the substrates being transparent, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, and pixel electrodes and common electrodes and active elements being arranged on at least one substrate between the pair of substrates. The liquid crystal of the liquid crystal layer is controlled to perform display by applying a voltage between the pixel electrode and the common electrode. An alignment layer is disposed on a surface in contact with the liquid crystal layer of each of the pair of substrates, and the alignment layer is made of an organic polymer selected from the group consisting of polyamic acid group polymers and polyimide ester group polymers having a relative imidization ratio above 60%.

A liquid crystal display apparatus having a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates. One of the pair of substrates has an electrode structure including a plurality of pixel electrodes and a plurality of common electrodes, an inorganic film is formed on a surface of at least one of the plurality of pixel electrodes and the plurality of common electrodes, an organic polymer film is formed on the inorganic film and the liquid crystal layer is in direct contact with the organic polymer film.

Liquid crystal display apparatus

A liquid crystal display device has a pair of substrates, at least one of the substrates being transparent; a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates; and pixel electrodes and common electrodes and active elements arranged on at least one substrate between the pair of substrates, wherein a pair of alignment layers are made of an organic polymer of polyamic acid group of polyamide ester group having a relative imidization ration above 60%; or at least one layer of an insulation film is interposed between the alignment layer in a side of the substrate having the group of electrodes formed thereon, and the pixel electrode and the common electrode disposed under the alignment layer to prevent occurrence of the sticking image and the after image by flattening the electrode portions to moderate the electric field concentration.

A liquid crystal display apparatus having a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates. One of the pair of substrates has an electrode structure including a plurality of pixel electrodes and a plurality of common electrodes, an organic polymer film is formed on at least one of the pixel electrodes and the common electrodes, and the liquid crystal layer is in direct contact with the organic polymer film.

A liquid crystal display apparatus and a method of manufacturing wherein the liquid crystal display apparatus includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, plural electrodes formed on at least one of the pair of substrates, a passivation layer formed on the plural electrodes and having concave portions, a thin film having low wettability formed on the passivation layer, and an insulating layer formed on the thin film having low wettability. The method includes the steps of irradiating light onto the thin film through a mask, and applying a solution containing organic high polymers so as to form the insulating layer at the concave portions of the passivation layer.

Liquid crystal display apparatus and a method for manufacturing the same

A liquid crystal display having a wide viewing angle, a large contrast ratio, and little nonuniformity of display, is formed by a pair of substrates, and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, wherein at least one of the pair of substrates has plural electrodes, a passivation layer formed on the plural electrodes, and an insulating layer formed at concave portions of the passivation layer for making the thickness of the liquid crystal layer uniform.

A liquid crystal display apparatus has a pair of substrates and a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates, one of the pair of substrates having an electrode structure composed of a plurality of electrodes for generating an electric field having a dominant component parallel to the substrate in the liquid crystal layer, a protective film formed on the electrode structure, and an alignment film formed on the protective film, and the thickness of the protective film is greater than the thickness of the electrode in contact with the protective film by more than 0.4 .mu.m.
