A compressor includes a compression mechanism, and a muffler structure disposed between a compression-chamber outlet of the compression mechanism and an inflow end of a discharge pipe. The muffler structure includes a first muffler portion and a second muffler portion connected in series such that a refrigerant gas repeats expansion and contraction.

Compressor containing oil separator with multiple internal muffler spaces

An oil separator includes a cover attached to an opening portion on a discharge side of a compressor, a discharge flow path formed in an inside of the cover, and an oil separation portion configured to separate an oil from a fluid that has flowed out from the discharge flow path. A dividing wall portion partitions an internal space facing the opening portion into a plurality of spaces. The dividing wall portion is provided in the inside of the cover. The internal space is a discharge space into which a high-pressure gas refrigerant discharged from the compressor flows. Each of the plurality of spaces faces a high-pressure chamber in the opening portion so as to be in direct communication with the high-pressure chamber.

Oil separator

A centrifugal separation type oil separator includes an oil separator body having a cylindrical body portion, and a bent pipe provided on an outer peripheral side of the body portion to surround the body portion in a circumferential direction, to introduce a fluid containing an oil into the oil separator body. The bent pipe includes an outer wall portion extending in the circumferential direction of the body portion and expanding radially outward from the body portion, and an inner wall portion extending along the outer wall portion and blocking an open part of the outer wall portion. The outer wall portion and the inner wall portion are formed by different members. An upper side of the body portion is open. The oil separator body has an upper cover blocking an open portion of the body portion. The inner wall portion and the upper cover are formed by an integral member.

Centrifugal separation-type oil separator

An image reading apparatus includes a line light source having a light guide plate and red-, green-, and blue-LEDs, for a light transmitting original, and a contact image sensor unit for detecting light from the line light source. The light transmitting original is arranged between the line light source and the contact image sensor unit. The light transmitting original is read by moving the line light source and the contact image sensor unit relative to the light transmitting original. The line light source is moved interlockingly with the contact image sensor unit by the attraction between a magnet provided at both ends of the line light source in the longitudinal direction thereof and a magnet provided at both ends of the contact image sensor unit in the longitudinal direction thereof.

Image reading apparatus having adjustable contact sensor distance

A light guideof a rectangular cross-section has side facesincluding short sides in the longitudinal direction of which one side faceis provided with a light-scattering pattern, formed by screen-printing in white paint, for scattering the light incident to the light guide. The other side facefacing the side faceis exposed from a casingto serve as a light-emitting surface. In the present embodiment, it is possible to secure a sufficient amount of light because the whole area of the side face is used as the light-emitting surface. The remaining side facesof the light guideare side faces including the long sides. Since the side faceseasily produce a surface sink during molding, neither the light-scattering patternnor the light-emitting surface is provided thereon.

Line-illuminating device and image sensor

An image reading apparatus of a contact image sensor type includes an area light source. The image reading apparatus is used for reading a light transmitting original placed on an original base by irradiating light thereto from the area light source and receiving transmission light. The original base has an uneven portion on a front surface on the side on which the light transmitting original is placed so that the adhesion of the light transmitting original to the original base is prevented upon placing the light transmitting original on the original base. The uneven portion does not effect optical characteristics for reading the light transmitting original.

Image reading apparatus

A light-emitting unithas a light-emitting unit boardmade of resin provided with a lead frame. The light-emitting unit boardis also provided with an open windowfor mounting a light-emitting device. The lead framecomprises a lead terminal section, an inner lead section, and a light-emitting device mounting and connecting sectionwhich is exposed within the open windowThe light-emitting devices, andare bonded with the light-emitting device mounting and connecting section, and electrodes of the light-emitting devices and the lead frame are connected by a metal wire, wherein the open windowis sealed by transparent resin. The lead frameis made of iron-containing copper to improve heat radiation performance of the light-emitting unit board. By increasing maximum current to be supplied to the light-emitting diodes, it is possible to increase illumination brightness and to attain speedup of image reading.

Light-emitting unit and illumination device and image reading device using light-emitting unit

A line-illuminating device having a light guide of which the cross-sectional shape is rectangular and its one corner is chamfered to form an emission plane is provided, in which the light guide is housed in a light guide casing wherein the chamfer dimension of the emission plane is more than 40% of a height dimension of the light guide By enlarging the chamfer dimension and broadening the width of the emission plane the directional characteristics of the emitted light is expanded. In this manner, it is possible to reduce the extent of decrease in the quantity of illuminating light on a document surface when the document surface is elevated.

Line-illuminating device

A resin erecting lens array is fabricated by forming a coating of silicon dioxide compound on the surface of each of molded resin lens plates, forming an aperture stop for each micro-lens on the surface of each resin lens plate, applying an adhesive on end portions of each resin lens plate, spreading out the adhesive into the space between the resin lens plates being placed on top of one another, aligning an optical axis of each micro-lens on the resin lens plates, inserting heat-melting resin pins into the pin-insert holes of the resin lens plate, and melting at least one end of each resin pin to secure the resin lens plates together.
