In a vehicle body structure, a frontal crash performance is improved by establishing a transmission path of a frontal crash load by a floor frame () without increasing the weight of the vehicle body, manufacturing cost or the number of welding spots. The floor frame () is attached to a lower surface of a floor panel (), and extends from a rear end of a front side frame () from a longitudinally intermediate part of the floor panel. A rear part of the floor panel is formed with a side bead () extending in a fore and aft direction in alignment with the floor frame. The rear end of the floor frame is connected to the front end of the side bead via a slope section () of the floor panel, and the rear end of the side bead is connected to a middle cross member () extending laterally along the rear edge of the floor panel.

Vehicle body structure

A dashboard upper panel is provided with: a front vertical wall extending substantially vertically in a vehicle top/bottom direction; a horizontal bottom wall extending substantially horizontally in a vehicle front/rear direction from the front vertical wall; a rear inclined wall extending from the horizontal bottom wall toward the rear of the vehicle and diagonally toward the top of the vehicle; a front horizontal flange extending from the front vertical wall toward the front of the vehicle; and a rear horizontal flange extending from the rear inclined wall toward the rear of the vehicle. A dashboard lower panel is provided with an inclined flange formed at an upper end of the dashboard lower panel. By joining the inclined flange to a lower portion of the rear inclined wall, the dashboard upper panel is supported by the dashboard lower panel from below at substantially the center in the vehicle front/rear direction.

Vehicle front structure

A front portion structure of a vehicle body includes: a dashboard lower panel extending in a vehicle width direction; an outrigger provided under the dashboard lower panel and extending outwards from the front side frame in the vehicle width direction; and a side sill extending from the outer portion of the outrigger in the vehicle width direction, toward the back of the vehicle; a footrest portion for a passenger, formed to the dashboard lower panel; and a reinforcing plate to reinforce the footrest portion, joined to the dashboard lower panel and covering the footrest portion from the passenger space side. A flange is formed to the reinforcing plate, and is joined to a side face of a side sill inner panel of the side sill.

Front portion structure of vehicle body

A shock absorbing member is supported on a shock absorbing member support bracket fixed onto a floor tunnel sandwiched between left and right front seats. Therefore, it is possible to allow the front seats to interfere with the shock absorbing member so that the member can absorb collision energy at a time of a side collision of a vehicle. Because a lower portion of a front wall connected to an inverted-U-shaped inner face of the shock absorbing member is connected to an upper portion of a front wall of the shock absorbing member support bracket, the front wall of the shock absorbing member support bracket receives a load of the side collision in a shearing direction. Accordingly, it is possible to increase strength of the front wall of the shock absorbing member support bracket against the side collision, prevent the shock absorbing member from falling down sideways, and enhance the shock absorbing effect.

Shock absorbing structure for vehicle

Vehicle body floor structure includes a floor frame of an upwardly-opening U sectional shape extending in a length direction of a vehicle centrally on a floor panel provided in a floor section of a vehicle compartment, and a collective piping bracket provided under the floor panel between a flange of the floor frame and an outer surface of the floor panel. The collective piping bracket is fixedly joined to the flange of the floor frame in spaced-apart relation to the floor panel.

Vehicle body floor structure

Rear vehicle body structure () includes a sub-frame (), which has left and right sub side members () and front and rear sub cross members () that together constitute a substantially rectangular framework (). The left sub side member includes a left rear extension portion () extending from the framework toward the rear of the vehicle body and connected to a left rear joint section (), where the rear cross member and the left rear side frame are joined together. The right sub side member includes a right rear extension portion () extending from the framework toward the rear of the vehicle body and connected to a right rear joint section ().

Rear vehicle body structure

A vehicle body floor structure includes: a floor panel; a floor cross member provided on the floor panel and joined to left and side sills provided on left and right sides of the floor panel; and left and right front floor frames provided on the floor panel and extending from a dashboard cross member to a substantial middle region of the floor panel through a recessed portion of the floor cross member. The left and right front floor frames each have a rear section located rearwardly of the floor cross member, and these rear sections are bent outwardly to be joined to the left and right side sills, respectively. Each of the front floor frames may be provided on the upper surface of a downwardly concaved floor section of the floor panel and extend between the concaved floor section and the floor cross member.

A vehicle body structure having right and left floor frame members and right and left side sills located outside the right and left floor frame members is disclosed. Rear end portions of the right and left floor frame members are joined to longitudinally middle portions of the right and left side sills, respectively. Seat brackets for mounting passenger seats are provided on the rear end portions of the right and left floor frame members, respectively, without being extended between the right and left side sills.

A vehicle body structure with a floor panel having rigidity to withstand an impact energy at an offset collision of the vehicle is provided. The floor panel has a plurality of beads formed in a direction in which an impact energy acts. The beads are formed in the floor panel such that they extend obliquely rearward from left and right floor frame members toward the transversal center and are aligned longitudinally of the vehicle body.
