Disclosed are a cell culture substrate that can be modified from its cell-inadhesibleness to make it cell-adhesible, by a convenient and low-cost treatment, and particularly, a substrate that allows position-specific culture of one or more kinds of cells. Sulfobetaine-based protein aggregation inhibitor for use in preventing aggregation of a protein

The present invention provides a protein aggregation inhibitor for use in preventing aggregation of a protein, which contains a terminal sulfanyl group-containing sulfobetaine polymer having a repeat unit derived from a sulfobetaine monomer represented by the formula (II), and a noble metal particle, and in which the terminal sulfanyl group-containing sulfobetaine polymer is chemisorbed on the noble metal particle by the sulfanyl group (the groups in the following formula are as defined in the DESCRIPTION). 

Protein aggregation inhibitor

Provided are a clear coating composition which is used for top coats, the composition containing a crosslinking agent and a functional group-containing (meth)acrylate polymer formed by polymerization of a monomer component that includes an aromatic ring-containing (meth)acrylate and a functional group-containing monomer. Also provided is a clear coat composition which is used for top coats, the composition containing a crosslinking agent and a functional group-containing (meth)acrylate polymer formed by polymerization of a monomer component that includes a functional group-containing monomer and a fluorine atom-containing monomer. This clear coat composition has low colorability, has a high refractive index without the use of a filler, provides excellent glossy even when a filler is used, and can be applied to a thick film.

An aqueous gel that is prepared by gelling a polymer components, the polymer components containing polymer A, which is obtained by polymerizing a monomer component containing a betaine monomer represented by the formula (I): wherein Rrepresents hydrogen atom or an alkyl group, Rrepresents an alkylene, arylene, aralkylene, &#x2014;COOH&#x2014; or &#x2014;CONH&#x2014; group; Rand Rrepresent an alkyl group, and Rrepresents an alkylene group, and a polymer B, which is obtained by polymerizing a monomer component containing an acidic monomer represented by the formula (II): wherein Rrepresents hydrogen atom or an alkyl group; Rrepresents an optionally neutralized sulfonate group, an optionally neutralized phosphate group, or an alkyl, aryl, aralkyl, carboxyl or amino group carrying an optionally neutralized sulfonate group or an optionally neutralized phosphate group.

Aqueous gel

A hydrophilic coating agent for use in the formation of a coating film that can keep hydrophilicity, an anti-fogging property and an anti-fogging effect thereof and has water resistance, the coating agent including an alkoxysilyl-group-containing compound, a film which has an anti-fogging property and can be produced by shaping the hydrophilic coating agent into a film-like form; and a product which has an anti-fogging layer formed on the surface thereof, wherein the anti-fogging layer is formed from the hydrophilic coating agent.

A method for manufacturing a cell culture substrate obtained by forming a coating layer of a polymer on the surface of a substrate, wherein the polymer is formed by polymerizing a monomer component containing a nitrogen atom-containing monomer represented by formula (I): wherein Ris hydrogen atom or methyl group, Ris an alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, each of Rand Ris independently an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, Ris an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and Y is oxygen atom or &#x2014;NH&#x2014; group, includes irradiating the polymer with ion beam at a predetermined position of the coating layer of the polymer, to remove the coating layer of the polymer irradiated with the ion beam.

Method for manufacturing cell culture substrate

A biocompatible material having excellent biocompatibility such as small interaction with a component of a living body such as a protein or blood cell. A biocompatible material comprising a polymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer composition comprising an amino acid-type betaine monomer represented by the formula (I): wherein Ris a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; Ris an alkylene group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms; each of Rand Ris independently an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; Ris an alkylene group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; and Z is an oxygen atom or an &#x2014;NH group; and a polymerizable monomer represented by the formula (II): wherein Ris as defined above; and Ris a monovalent organic group, in a weight ratio, i.e. amino acid-type betaine monomer/polymerizable monomer, of from 1/99 to 100/1. The biocompatible material can be suitably used, for example, in food, a food additive, a medicament, a quasi-drug, a medical device, cosmetics, a toiletry article, or the like.
