A delivery information management system includes: a printing apparatus that prints unique identification information related to a delivery item, a memory unit that stores identification information and information related to delivery associated with each other, a plurality of reading units that read the identification information at a plurality of locations during a delivery process, and a control unit that displays information related to delivery when the identification information is read by the reading units at each of the plurality of locations, based on the attributes of a worker who handles the delivery item at each of the plurality of locations.

A medium feeding apparatus includes: a placement mount on which a plurality of media are placed; a transportation mechanism that transports an uppermost medium of the plurality of media placed on the placement mount; a floating-air blowout mechanism that blows out air to float at least the uppermost medium; a suction mechanism that sucks air to cause the uppermost medium floated by the floating-air blowout mechanism blowing out air to be attracted to the transportation mechanism; and a floating-air control unit that causes the floating-air blowout mechanism to start to blow out air while the uppermost medium is being attracted to the transportation mechanism after starting to be transported by the transportation mechanism, so as to float at least a second medium located below the uppermost medium, and causes the floating-air blowout mechanism to stop blowing out air before the second medium starts to be transported by the transportation mechanism.

An inkjet printer is provided which can alleviate the degradation of print quality caused by the deviation of ink temperature from a proper temperature range. A controller performs printing while controlling the correspondence of ejection data to nozzle rows so that the ink temperature difference between regions caused by ink ejection operations may be smaller than that in the case where printing is performed with the correspondence of upstream nozzle row ejection data and downstream nozzle row ejection data to an upstream nozzle row and a downstream nozzle row fixed.

A specific gamut of colors extending a reproduction range of colors in a color space is set to make for any ink color belonging to the specific gamut a conversion from CMYK dot pattern data into numbers of ink drops to be discharged from an inkjet head, using as a lookup table an extended pattern table having a maximal drop number '7'. For ink colors belonging to a gamut of colors outside the specific gamut, a default pattern table having a maximal drop number '5' is used as a lookup table for the conversion from CMYK dot pattern data into ink drop numbers.

An input of image data is received, and information of width and/or thickness of a recording medium, which receives an image representing the image data to be recorded thereon, is received. Then, a preset pressing pressure value, which is used when the image is recorded on the recording medium, is obtained based on the information of width and/or thickness, and information of image density in the reference area, which is a part of the image data, is obtained. Then, converted image density information is obtained by converting the information of image density in the reference area based on the pressing pressure value and the information of image density, and image data is generated according to the thus obtained converted image density information.

An inkjet printer includes an inkjet head configured to perform printing on a printing sheet by use of ink. The inkjet printer includes: a heater configured to heat the ink; a thermometer configured to measure the temperature of the ink; and a controller configured to control the amount of electric power to be supplied to the heater and to control the inkjet head. In a case where the measured value of the ink temperature measured by the thermometer is in a range of a first reference temperature inclusive to a second reference temperature exclusive, the controller calculates a coverage rate of a page to be printed, and accordingly changes the amount of electric power to be supplied to the heater depending on the coverage rate thus calculated.

Printer and control method thereof

An inkjet printer includes a printing unit, a transfer route, a heating chamber, and a heater. The printing unit ejects ink onto a sheet through nozzles of the inkjet heads. The transfer route transfers the sheet as printed at the printing unit. The heating chamber accommodates at least part of the transfer route to heat the sheet as transferred in the transfer route. The heater heats inside the heating chamber. The heating chamber is sectioned into sub-chambers along the transfer route, including a first sub-chamber to be heated by the heater and a second sub-chamber to be lower in temperature than the first sub-chamber and located between the printing unit and the first sub-chamber.

A print head includes an ink propelling mechanism, an ink tank supplies ink to the print head, an ink circulation route includes the print head and the ink tank therein, a pump circulates ink through the ink circulation route, a temperature sensor measures a temperature of ink flowing in a route between the print head and the ink tank in the ink circulation route, a heater is disposed in a vicinity of the ink tank to heat ink, and a controller works with a received print job, operating for temperatures of ink as measures at the temperature sensor lower than a first prescribed reference, to heat ink by the heater without starting printing, and for temperatures of ink as measures at the temperature sensor kept equal to or higher than the first reference for a prescribed time interval, to start printing.

A printing apparatus is capable of forming images by overlappingly performing print processes for a plurality of colors with non-aqueous inks and an aqueous ink. When printing with the aqueous ink, it is possible to inhibit paper from being deformed and to realize a high density print process with a low see-through density. At least one of the plurality of colors is printed with a non-aqueous ink containing a water-insoluble solvent, and the remaining colors is printed with an aqueous ink containing a water-soluble solvent. The print process of the non-aqueous ink is performed in advance of the print process of the aqueous ink.
