A skin irritation alleviation agent composed of a polyoxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxane is provided. Various compositions including skin external application compositions, cosmetic or similar compositions (e.g., an adhesive composition for a false eyelash, a decolorant composition, a depilatory composition, and an eyeliner composition) containing a polyoxyalkylene-modified organosiloxane are also provided. This alleviation agent has a low skin irritation effect and extremely high safety factor when used on the human body.

A gel composition or a nail polish comprising at least one cationic surfactant having a propylene oxide chain and/or an ethylene oxide chain, an organic modified clay mineral and a solvent. Addition of the specific cationic surfactant maintains the good thixotropy due to the organic modified clay mineral and restricts the change in viscosity with time and with a slight change in the content of the organic modified clay mineral to a very narrow range.

C. or less, in the composition. This cosmetic composition does not exhibit an unpreferable oily feeling finish but does exhibit a cosmetic finish which lasts for a long time.
