A tape heater for keeping warm or heating an object by deforming its shape to conform to contours of the object, which comprises: a heating element; and an outer covering member that envelops and accommodates the heating element and that is composed of a porous sheet made of a resin which has a melting point of 300&#xb0; C. or higher. Provided is a tape heater that deforms to conform to the contours of an object to be kept warm or the like after being placed on the object and changes its shape that has been deformed as little as possible.

The present invention relates to a jacket heater having a heating element built therein, the jacket heater containing: the heating element having a watt density of 0.15 W/cmor more, a metal foil disposed adjacently to the heating element, and a surrounding body which surrounds the heating element and the metal foil.

The present invention provides a covering member including: a surrounding member including a heat insulating material and having a heat generating member or a heat insulating function, the surrounding member being wound from an open state so as to cover an object; and a fixing unit including: an engagement member including: a ring including a heat resistant elastic material; and a hook fitted to the ring; a holding member disposed on one end of the surrounding member, the holding member fastening the ring of the engagement member to hold the engagement member; and a receiving member disposed on one end of the surrounding member so as to correspond to the holding member, the receiving member including a receiving metal fitting to be engaged with the hook of the engagement member.

A covering body for heating a pipe to be attached to the pipe and to conduct external heat to heat the pipe, including: a surrounding body including at least two parts having a divided shape of a cylindrical body along an axial line of the cylindrical body, the surrounding body having: a through hole having a diameter corresponding to an outer diameter of the pipe; and a concave groove provided on an outer peripheral surface of at least one of the at least two parts and extending in a longitudinal direction of the surrounding body, a fitting member including: a first fitting plate including a first arc band-shaped plate longer than a half of circumference of an outer peripheral surface of the surrounding body and having a first extended portion and a first cutout at one end of the first arc band-shaped plate; a second fitting plate including a second arc band-shaped plate longer than the half of circumference of the outer peripheral surface of the surrounding body and having, at one end of the second arc band-shaped plate, a second extended portion and a second cutout to be engaged with the first cutout and the first extended portion; and a hinge openably and closably combining the other ends of the first arc band-shaped plate and the second arc band-shaped plate each other, the fitting member being attached on the surrounding body so as to fit the hinge in the concave groove and fit the first extended portion to the second cutout.

Covering body for heating pipe

A tape heater includes an electric heating wire disposed on a surface of a heat-resistant, flexible substrate strip. The electric heating wire and the substrate strip are wrapped with a heat-resistant resin wrap.

Tape heater

An oil coating roller comprising a porous round-rod-like molded product, a heat-resistant fiber felt layer provided on an outer circumference of the porous round-rod-like molded product, and a porous film applied onto an outer circumference of the felt layer. The porous round-rod-like molded product contains heat-resistant fibers bound to each other by a binder, and has fine communicating voids free from the binder among the fibers and evenly distributed pores having a pore size in a range of from 0.05 to 2 mm and a total void percentage in a range of from 30 to 90%. The porous round-rod-like molded product is impregnated with silicone oil. The heat-resistant fiber felt layer has a thickness in a range of from 0.5 to 5 mm. The porous film has a thickness in a range of from 15 to 130 &mgr;m, a mean pore size in a range of from 0.1 to 3.0 &mgr;m, a porosity in a range of from 60 to 90% and an air permeability in a range of from 3 to 1500 sec per 100 cc.

Oil coating apparatus

An oil holding cylinder for an oil coating roller is provided. The cylinder includes at least a cylindrical non-sintered molded body, which is formulated from a mixture of at least ceramic fiber and an organic binder. In addition, the mixture can further include clay, an inorganic binder, or a combination thereof. The molded body preferably has a porosity in a range of about 30% to about 70%. In operation, the oil holding cylinder disclosed herein can stably and uniformly supply oil to the fixing rollers and the like for an extended period of time, while preventing offset.

Oil holding cylinder for an oil coating roller and method therefor

In order to provide a heating mantle so composed that fixing and unfixing work can be carried out simply and easily and in addition a good thermal uniformity can be obtained, the heating mantle is fabricated by a method, by which sewing by means of a sewing machine is carried out on a sheet-shaped heat resistant and heat insulating core member, using a heating wire, which is a yarn of metal fine wires, for a lower yarn and a glass yarn for an upper yarn; a predetermined heating wire pattern is formed on a surface of the core member; and a layered body consisting of the core member with the heating wire and covering members made of glass cloth, which are laid on upperside and underside thereof, is enclosed by a sack-shaped cover member. By the heating mantle thus constructed winding around a piping is simple and easy and there is no risk that deviation of the heating wire takes place so that a good thermal uniformity with respect to the piping can be exhibited. Moreover, owing to the fact that the heating wire is used for the lower yarn for the sewing machine, it is possible to form easily the predetermined heating wire pattern.

Heating mantle and method for fabricating the same

A coating fluid holding member including a porous molded body which is formed of heat-resistant fibers (or a mixture of heat-resistant fibers and a filler) bound to each other with a binder, has intercommunicating pores having an average pore size of 1 to 500 .mu.m, and has a porosity of 20 to 90%, and a coating fluid holding member including a porous molded body which is formed of heat-resistant fibers bound to each other with a binder, contains fine intercommunicating interstices between fibers and uniformly distributed pores having a diameter of 0.05 to 2 mm, and has a porosity of 30 to 90%. The holding member has a high fluid holding capacity for its volume and releases the coating fluid, such as a parting agent, an oil or a coating compound, in a stable manner for an extended period of time.

Process for producing a coating fluid holding member

A molded friction material for a damper is disclosed, which contains, as a part of a friction regulating material, porous fibrous particulates having an average particle size of 0.5 to 2 mm and a bulk density of 0.1 to 0.2 g/cm.sup.3 and comprising finely divided ceramic fibers or porous fibrous particulates having an average particle size of 0.1 to 5 mm and a bulk density of 0.2 to 2.0 g/cm.sup.3 and comprising finely divided ceramic fibers, a filler, and a binder. The friction material exhibits excellent performance basically required of a friction material, such as mechanical strength and damping characteristics, and hardly squeaks during damping.

Friction material for dampers and process for producing the same

To provide an oil supplying means for an oil coating roller, by which oil can be supplied stably for a long time while preventing offset, a cylindrical non-sintered molded body which is a mixture of ceramic fiber and clay is used as an oil holding member in an oil coating roller.

A heating apparatus including a process tube in which the target objects are arranged in an internal heating area and a multilayer insulating structure arranged so to enclose the process tube. At the inner face of an inorganic molded structure of bulk density 0.3-0.8 g/cm.sup.3, an inorganic insulating layer of bulk density 1.0-2.0 g/cm.sup.3 covered on the inner face or all faces thereof by inorganic cloth is provided to form the multilayer insulating structure. The inner face of the inorganic insulating layer is used to support a heat generating means. A cooling means is also provided for cooling the flat heating area of the process tube. As a result, a heating apparatus of the present invention is provided that features excellent endurance against spalling, deterioration and chemical reaction, and which is capable of long term stability with respect to temperature increase and decrease.

Heating apparatus with multilayer insulating structure

A heating apparatus provided with a double layered heat-insulating material. This heat-insulating material includes an inner layer portion constituted by an alumina fiber/inorganic filler/inorganic binder and having a bulk density of 0.3 to 0.8 g/cm.sup.3, and an outer layer portion integrally laminated on the inner layer portion, and constituted by an alumina silica fiber/ inorganic binder and having a bulk density of 0.2 to 0.4 g/cm.sup.3 which is smaller than that of the inner layer portion.
