A side-viewing endoscope includes an elongated tube for entry in a body cavity for imaging. A wire line is contained in the elongated tube, for moving in an axial direction back and forth. A guide device is coupled with a distal end of the wire line, caused to shift between first and second positions by the wire line, for orientation in a direction crosswise to the axial direction upon being set in the second position. An input lever is disposed at a proximal end of the wire line, for moving the wire line in the axial direction. A cam mechanism is connected between the input lever and the wire line, for shifting the guide device at a first shift between the first position and an intermediate position, and shifting the guide device at a second shift smaller than the first shift between the intermediate and second positions.

Wire driver for wire line and endoscope

The endoscope is provided with the forceps elevator which is erectably provided in the distal end part of the insertion part of the endoscope and guides a treatment tool led out from the distal end part. The forceps elevator has an erecting motion range from a minimum angular position to a maximum angular position. If a state in which the treatment tool is not led out from the distal end part is assumed, the erecting operation lever for operating the movement of the forceps elevator has: a first operation range where the erecting operation lever is operated within the erecting motion range of the forceps elevator; and a second operation range where the erecting operation lever is operated beyond the first operation range. When the erecting operation lever is operated into the second operation range, the locking mechanism locks the movement of the erecting operation lever.

Endoscope apparatus

There is provided an endoscope apparatus which can achieve the improvement of operability with a simple configuration related to the operation of a forceps elevator. The endoscope includes: a forceps elevator which is erectably provided at the distal end part of an operation part that is provided to the insertion part, in an erecting motion range from the minimum angular position to the maximum angular position, and which guides a treatment tool led out from the distal end part; and a locking mechanism which locks the movement of the forceps elevator. An amount of force for locking the movement of the forceps elevator may be varied depending on a direction of that movement and a position of the forceps elevator.

A multiple hemostatic clip application apparatus operates for tissue clamping in combination with an endoscope. For use with the clip application apparatus, a clip package is provided, and has a multiple clip assembly, which includes a clip device, and a fastening mechanism, disposed at a proximal end of the clip device, for fastening to a shaft head of an operating wire inserted through a flexible sheath of the clip application apparatus. A coupling device includes a casing for containing the multiple clip assembly in a manner movable from the fastening mechanism toward the flexible sheath, and a guide slider for pressing the shaft head toward the fastening mechanism, for fastening together. The fastening mechanism emerges from the casing, the shaft head being overlapped on the fastening mechanism in an axial direction of the multiple clip assembly.

Clip package for clip application apparatus

A sensor unit is retained on an assay stage of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay apparatus. The sensor unit includes a prism having a sensing surface, disposed on an upper surface thereof, for detecting reaction of a sample. A flow cell is secured to the upper surface, and has a flow channel for flow of sample fluid containing the sample to the sensing surface. The sensor unit is set removably on the assay apparatus for optically measuring reaction of the sample. In sensor holding, the sensor unit is set on a stage surface of the assay stage by directing down the prism. In a pushing step, a lower surface of the prism is pushed on the stage surface in a first direction upright relative to the stage surface. Two holders push an upper face of the first and second ridges of the prism in the first direction.

Assay apparatus and sensor holding method

A surface plasmon resonance (SPR) assay apparatus has an assay stage, which is loadable with a sensor unit. The sensor unit has a prism, thin film, flow cell and flow channel for flow of sample. A multiple pipette assembly accesses the flow channel in the assay stage, and introduces the sample into the flow channel. A light source applies illuminating light to the thin film to satisfy a total reflection condition. A photo detector receives the illuminating light reflected by the thin film to output a signal. A pressing mechanism presses the sensor unit on the assay stage for holding in a direction of the access of the pipette assembly. The pressing mechanism includes a movable pad for contacting the sensor unit. A slider moves the pad to press the sensor unit. A spring plunger adjusts pressure of the pad to the sensor unit.

Apparatus and method of assay in utilizing attenuated total reflection

A sensor unit includes a dielectric block, a thin film layer and a reference surface. The thin film layer is formed on the upper surface of the dielectric block and the reference surface is coplanar with the upper surface of the dielectric block. The sensor unit is held in a predetermined position. A light beam is caused to enter the dielectric block to impinge upon the interface between the upper surface of the dielectric block and the thin film layer so that total internal reflection conditions are satisfied at the interface. Information on an analyte on the thin film layer is obtained on the basis of the light beam reflected at the interface. Displacement of the interface is measured by measuring displacement of the reference surface and the position of the sensor unit is adjusted according to the displacement of the reference surface.
