An internal combustion engine includes: a cylinder having a combustion chamber formed at an upper side thereof and accommodating a piston to be reciprocally movable; a crankcase provided below the cylinder and accommodates a crankshaft; and a blow-by gas passageway recirculating blow-by gas, which leaks into the crankcase from the combustion chamber, to the combustion chamber through an intake system, in which an inner surface portion of the crankcase is provided with a blow-by gas intake part, and the blow-by gas intake part includes a protruding portion protruding in a direction in which the crankshaft extends, and the intake port opened in the protruding direction is formed at a tip end portion of the protruding portion.

A variable valve timing control device includes a housing member, a rotor member assembled to the housing member so as to be rotatable relative thereto and including vane portions each forming an advanced angle chamber and a retarded angle chamber within the housing member, a stopper formed on the convex portion for restricting a relative rotation between the housing member and the rotor member, a lock mechanism for restricting the relative rotation by a lock member, and a fluid pressure circuit for controlling an operation oil to be supplied to or discharged from the advanced angle chamber, the retarded angle chamber, and the lock mechanism. When the relative rotation is restricted, the lock member is in contact with an inner peripheral face of the receiving hole on the advanced angle side and the retarded angle side between an opening portion and a bottom portion of the receiving hole.

Valve opening-closing timing control device

A variable valve timing control device includes a rotor member integrally connected to either one of a camshaft and a crankshaft, a housing member connected to either one of the crankshaft and the camshaft via a driving force transmitting member and assembled to the rotor member so as to be rotatable relative thereto, a vane, a fluid pressure chamber divided into an advanced angle chamber and a retarded angle chamber by the vane, and a sensor wheel assembled to either one of the rotor member and the housing member and including a projecting portion for detecting a rotational angle of the rotor member or the housing member by using a sensor provided adjacent to the sensor wheel. The sensor wheel includes at least one reference hole for determining a position of the projecting portion in a circumferential direction of the sensor wheel.

A variable valve timing device includes a rotation transmitting member rotated integrally with a rotation shaft of an engine, a rotor member disposed in the rotation transmitting member to be rotated relative to the rotation transmitting member and rotated integrally with an intake and exhaust valves controlling member, a fluid chamber defined between the rotor member and the rotation transmitting member, a vane radially equipped to one of the rotor member and the rotation transmitting member, and a covering member fixed to the rotation transmitting member for covering the fluid chamber. An axial edge surface of the biasing member discontinuously comes in contact with at least one of the rotor member and the covering member.

A variable valve lift device (20) provided in a bore (21) of a cylinder head (11) to open and close a valve (24) in accordance with a rotation of a cam (13, 14, 15) comprises an outer body (22) driven by the cam (13, 14, 15) and slidably provided in the bore (21); an inner body (23) connected to the valve (24) and slidably provided in the outer body (22); a restricting member (26) for restricting mutual displacement between the outer body (22) and the inner body (23); and a synchronizing member (36) slidably provided in the inner body (23) and for controlling the restricting member (26) based on inertia applied thereto. In the present invention, the restricting member (26) is controlled by the synchronizing member (36). The synchronizing member (36) detects the acceleration of the inner body (23) so that the restricting member (26) may restrict the mutual displacement between the outer body (22) and the inner body (23) in timely manner.

A valve timing control device includes an input member to which a driving force is applied thereto, an output member having on its axis a cam for opening and closing a valve, a transmission member for transmitting torque between the output member and the input member and for changing the rotational position of the output member in relation to the input member in accordance with the position thereof, a slit member provided with a helical slit and secured to the input member and a passive member provided with a helical spline superposed with the helical slit of the slit member and secured to the output member. A base portion which is allowed to engage the helical slit of the slit member and a toothed portion which is allowed to engage with the helical spline of the passive member are formed in the transmission member so that the slit member is connected to the passive member via the slit member.
