A jet propulsion watercraft includes a vessel body, a steering nozzle, and a bucket. The steering nozzle includes a jet port from which a jet of water is ejected to propel the vessel body. The bucket is configured to move to a retracted position away from the jet of water ejected from the jet port and a jet receiving position to receive the jet of water ejected from the jet port. The bucket includes a right opening, a left opening, a first opening, and a second opening spaced apart from the first opening. The jet of water flows rightward from the right opening, leftward from the left opening, and rearward from the first opening and the second opening when the bucket is located in the jet receiving position. The first opening is located at least partially rightward of a right end of the jet port. The second opening is located at least partially leftward of a left end of the jet port.

Jet propulsion watercraft

A jet propulsion boat includes a boat body, an engine, a jet propulsion mechanism, and a reverse gate. The reverse gate is arranged rearward of the jet propulsion mechanism and is configured to move to a forward movement position that allows a jet flow from the jet propulsion mechanism to flow backward, a reverse movement position that allows the jet flow from the jet propulsion mechanism to flow forward and downward, and a neutral position that allows the jet flow from the jet propulsion mechanism to flow in the lateral direction. The reverse gate includes a first member and a second member. The first member includes a downward opening and a pair of lateral openings open to the right and left when the reverse gate is positioned in the neutral position. The second member covers at least a portion of the downward opening when the reverse gate is positioned in the neutral position.

Jet propulsion boat

A personal watercraft includes a hull, a deck, a steering handle, a steering shaft, a seat, and a display device. The deck is disposed above the hull. The steering handle is disposed above the deck. The steering shaft is arranged to extend downward from the steering handle. The display device includes a display portion and a switch. The display portion is disposed forward relative to the steering shaft. The switch is arranged to operate the display portion. The switch is disposed on a surface of the deck rearward relative to the steering shaft and forward relative to a central front end of the seat.

Personal watercraft

A sectional shape of a seat provided on a personal watercraft includes first to third seat portions, first to third hip support portions, and first and second rearward inclined portions. The first hip support portion extends rearward to a height higher than the second seat portion from the first seat portion. The second hip support portion extends rearward to a height higher than the third seat portion and higher than the first hip support portion from the second seat portion. The third hip support portion extends rearward to a height higher than the second hip support portion from the third seat portion. The second rearward inclined portion is inclined at an inclination angle larger than an inclination angle of the first rearward inclined portion with respect to a horizontal plane.

A small planning boat includes a filler opening for a fuel tank and an opening section that are formed on the deck of the boat body. The filler opening and the opening section are covered with a hatch cover when the hatch cover is closed. A fuel-receiving concave section is formed around the filler opening, so that the filler opening is positioned at the bottom surface section of a fuel-receiving concave section. A guide groove that declines downward from the bottom surface section on an outer side of the boat body can be formed as one piece with the fuel-receiving concave section. A storage section can also be formed inside the opening section. In addition, the filler opening can be positioned on the starboard side rearward from the opening section, and the guide groove can be formed in a section on an outer side of the opening section.

Fluid filler opening system for a small planing boat

A watercraft has steering force detection sections. Each steering force detection section includes a pressure receiving section. The pressure receiving sections are spaced from each other and are in the vicinity of a steering shaft. A pressing member is coupled to the steering shaft. The pressing member can press on at least one of the pressure receiving sections when the steering handlebars are rotated to a maximum steering angle. A received pressure detection section detects the pressure applied to the pressure receiving section. The pressure receiving section and the received pressure detection section are coaxially mounted in a pressure receiving section casing and a detection section casing. A guide tube can engage the pressure receiving section and the received pressure detection section. The guide tube is formed with ribs and grooves. The pressure receiving section has a pressure receiving member, a bolt, a plain washer, and a spring member.

Steering-force detection sections, including a pressure-receiving section and a received-pressure detection section, are spaced from one another in the vicinity of a steering shaft. The steering shaft can include a pressing member for applying pressure to the pressure-receiving section when steering handlebars are rotated in either direction to the maximum steering angle. The pressure-receiving section and the received-pressure detection section are coaxially mounted in a pressure-receiving section casing and a detection section casing, respectively, through a guide tube, so that the pressure-receiving directions of both the pressure-receiving sections are parallel to one another and perpendicular to the direction in which the steering-force detection sections are spaced. The detection section casing includes mounting openings for mounting the received-pressure detecting sections and an electric circuit board, which is integrally connected to the received-pressure detecting sections. The mounting openings are formed in the same direction as each other and perpendicularly to the pressure-receiving direction of the pressure-receiving section.

Steering-force detection device for steering handle of vehicle

A load detector is constructed so as to stabilize an output voltage responding to an input load. The load detector includes a magnetostrictive sensor which includes a hollow case, a coil housed in the case, and a rod-like magnetic member located at an axial center of the coil, magnetized by an electric current flowing through the coil and receiving a load at an end thereof. The load detector further includes a pin which has a contact surface for applying the load onto the end of the magnetic member and is disposed axially inline with the magnetic member, and a bearing collar for reducing displacement of the pin with respect to the magnetic member. The magnetostrictive sensor and the pin are fitted, facing each other, into the bearing collar. The load detector is utilized suitably for transport equipment such as a water vehicle or electric bicycle.

Load detector and transport equipment including the same

A watercraft includes an exhaust system having a connection pipe communicating exhaust gases from an expansion chamber to a water trap. The water trap is positioned generally toward one side of a center line of the watercraft and is angled relative to the center line. A downstream end of the connection pipe opens into a rearward section of the water trap. An exhaust discharge port opens through an upper portion of a forward section of the water trap. The discharge port is closer to the center line than is the downstream end of the connection pipe. An exhaust discharge conduit extends from the discharge port to an exhaust outlet formed through the watercraft hull on an opposite side of the center line from the water trap. In this arrangement, when the watercraft is rolled onto its side, the water trap will prevent water from invading the watercraft engine.

Exhaust system for watercraft

A hull for a planing type watercraft has a rear portion that includes one or more steppers and a step plate fixed to the hull rearward of the first stepper so as to create a gap between a leading end of the step plate and the corresponding stepper. The step plate may additionally include longitudinally extending channels. The gap may further include apertures to supply air to the gap.

Small watercraft hull construction

A number of embodiments of small personal watercraft each embodying a V-type engine. Arrangements are shown wherein the engine is mounted either with its output shaft extending in a longitudinal direction or in a vertical direction. Various placements for the engine are disclosed and in all embodiments a straddle-type seat is incorporated for accommodating at least the rider and in some instances additional passengers. Various types of exhaust systems including watertrap devices are incorporated and the watercraft is provided with a pair of fuel tanks in several embodiments that are disposed in longitudinal alignment with the seat and on opposite sides thereof for improving balance.
