A neck cover and a helmet are provided that improve quietness of a helmet interior and that do not cause inconvenience for a wearer. In order to eliminate a gap between an opening portion of a helmet and a neck periphery of a wearer, insert-through holes, which are for passage of a chin strap that is attached to an inner side of the helmet, are formed in a portion, which covers a front portion (throat) of a neck, of a neck cover that is attached to a peripheral edge of the opening portion.

A helmet which performs good ventilation and which is capable of mitigating the uncomfortable feeling due to sound is provided. The shock absorbing liner includes front ventilation holes to communicatively connect the front openings to the inside of the shock absorbing liner, outside air paths disposed in a space on an outer side relative to an inner surface of the shock absorbing liner, and communicative holes to communicatively connect the inside of the shock absorbing liner to the outside air paths. The outside air paths include primary flow paths disposed to be connected to the rear opening and secondary flow paths. The communicative holes communicatively connects positions on an outer surface of the shock absorbing liner except positions of the primary flow paths, to the inside of the shock absorbing liner. The secondary flow paths are disposed to connect the communicative holes to the primary flow paths.

Helmet

A helmet includes an operation mechanism, which is accommodated in an accommodation portion, on an outer shell of the helmet for operating an anti-glare visor with a transmission cable. One wall surface at an end of the accommodation portion in an operation direction defines an end surface including an insertion hole extending through the outer shell for passage of the transmission cable.

A press-formed body () made of a high-tensile strength steel sheet of 390 MPa or more including a groove bottom part (), ridge line parts () continuous to the groove bottom part (), and side wall parts () continuous to the ridge line parts (), and in which an outward flange () is formed at an end part in a longitudinal direction is manufactured by a press-forming apparatus including a punch (), a die (), and a pad () which presses and binds a press-forming material () to the punch (), thereby forming the press-formed body () without providing cutouts at a ridge line part flange portion of the outward flange, or generating lowering of material yield.

Manufacturing method and manufacturing apparatus of press-formed body

A helmet includes the first pad in contact with an occipital region of a rider, and each of the second pads in contact with the cheeks of the rider. Since the first pad moves from the first occipital region-contact position to the second occipital region-contact position as well as the second pad moves from the first cheek-contact position to the second cheek-contact position, the helmet is moved relative to the rider's head by a predetermined distance.

A helmet is provided which is to be worn on the head of a helmet wearer and can be removed from the head with a comparatively small force. Operation for removing the helmet, including preliminary operation for it, can be performed easily and quickly. A recess-projection engaging mechanism to attach a blockish inside pad to a head protecting cap portion side includes an engaging pin on the inside pad side or head protecting cap portion side, and a notched engaging hole on the head protecting cap portion side or inside pad side. When pulling the inside pad outward from inside the head protecting cap portion at least partly, the engaging pin moves relative to outside the engaging hole through a notch of the engaging hole.

Helmet and method of removing the same

In a helmet according to this invention, a recess-projection fitting mechanism to attach a blockish inside pad on a head protecting cap portion side includes a male hook or female hook on the blockish inside pad side, and a female hook or male hook on the head protecting cap portion. When pulling the inside pad outward from inside the head protecting cap portion at least partly, a recess-projection fitting disengaging slant surface causes one hook to relatively levitate from the other hook, thus relatively disengaging the male hook from the female hook. This invention can provide the helmet which, when worn by a head of a helmet wearer, can be removed with a comparatively small force, and the detaching operation of which can be performed easily and reliably with a comparatively simple arrangement.

Helmet with a pad quick release apparatus

A neck cover () includes a flexible cover member () and a to-be-attached portion () which serves to attach the flexible cover member () to a head protecting body () of a full-face-type helmet (). The flexible cover member () comprises a substantially plate-like flexible cushion member () and a flexible support member () which supports the flexible cushion member (). The flexible cover member () is mainly made of a substantially plate-like foamed synthetic resin, a permeability of which measured by using a Frajour type method based on JIS L 1096 falls within a range of 0.1 to 10 cc/cm&#xb7;sec (preferably 0.2 to 5 cc/cm&#xb7;sec and more preferably 0.3 to 2 cc/cm&#xb7;sec). Therefore, a sound which is generated by a traveling wind as it is caught in a ventilator, stabilizer, or the like is effectively prevented from being heard as loud noise to a helmet wearer.

A full-face-type helmet such as an off-road driving helmet, in which ventilation of the interior of the full-face-type helmet is performed well by external air flowing in from a chin region, and a ventilation through hole extending through an impact absorbing liner substantially in the direction of its thickness need not be particularly formed in a region including the side head region and its vicinity of the impact absorbing liner for the external air flowing in from the chin region. The impact-on-the-chin absorbing portion of the impact absorbing liner disposed inside an outer shell having a first ventilation opening in the chin region includes a liner main body portion, and a sheet-like backing plate which is arranged on the inner surface of the liner main body portion. The liner main body portion includes a second ventilation opening substantially opposing the first ventilation opening, and a ventilation ridge groove which is formed in the inner surface of the liner main body portion and communicates with the second ventilation opening.

Full-face-type helmet

A module carrier incorporating components of a cooling system has a frame structure with frames provided on upper and lower sides thereof and a pair of stays supporting both side ends of the frames. Two fitting faces formed on each of the stays are fixed onto a front edge and a member bracket of a front side member. A pair of the front side members are provided on both sides in a widthwise direction of a vehicle. A lower frame is supported against the front side member by a truss structure provided in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. If an impact load is applied from the front side of the vehicle body to the lower frame, it is possible to receive such impact load securely and to generate a reactive force. Therefore, if a leg of a pedestrian collides from the frontside of the vehicle body, such reactive force is effective for scooping up a lower leg for protection.

Helmet chin cover

An inside pad for a helmet includes a cushion member and a bag-like member covering the cushion member like a bag. The bag-like member has a bag main body with an opening, through which the cushion member can be taken out of and accommodated in the bag main body, in its one surface, and at least one holding member made of a thin platelike elastic material and covering the opening. The holding member is attached to the bag main body. The inside pad for the helmet has a simple structure and a relatively large strength. In addition, the cushion member can be taken out of the bag-like member of the inside pad for the helmet easily, and can be accommodated in the bag-like member easily.
