A slide member of the present invention is used in a slide unit which is included in a refrigerant compressor for compressing a refrigerant and provided inside a sealed container which reserves lubricating oil therein. The slide member is provided with an oxide coating film on a surface of a base material. The oxide coating film is configured such that (1) when the base material comprises an iron based material, the oxide coating film has a three-layer structure including a first layer comprising FeO, a second layer comprising FeO, and a third layer comprising FeO in this order from an outermost surface, (2) the oxide coating film has a dense structure having minute concave/convex portions with a height difference which falls within a range of 0.01 &#x3bc;m to 0.1 &#x3bc;m, or (3) when the base material comprises the iron based material, the oxide coating film has a three-layer structure in which the three layers comprise the iron oxides and are different in hardness.

Compressor

A scroll compressor includes a back pressure chamber oil-feeding path for feeding lubricating oil from a high-pressure region to a back pressure chamber, and a compression chamber oil-feeding path for feeding lubricating oil from the back pressure chamber to a compression chamber. One phase in which the back pressure chamber oil-feeding path is communicated from the high-pressure region to the back pressure chamber and another phase in which the compression chamber oil-feeding path is communicated from the back pressure chamber to the compression chamber are shifted from each other, so that the back pressure chamber oil-feeding path and the compression chamber oil-feeding path are never put into the communicating state simultaneously. Thus, after a halt of the compressor, under-communication oil-feeding of the lubricating oil from the high-pressure region via the back pressure chamber to the compression chamber can be prevented.

A back pressure chamber () provided on a back surface of an orbiting scroll () is divided into an inner region () and an outer region () by an annular seal (). A diameter d of the annular seal () is set 0.5 times or more of a diameter D of an orbiting mirror plate (). With this, plus thrust force can be applied to the orbiting scroll () irrespective of magnitude of a discharge pressure Pd applied to the inner region (). Therefore, it is possible to push the orbiting scroll () against the fixed scroll () only by back pressure of discharge pressure. A set pressure Pm of the outer region () is reduced to a value close to a suction pressure Ps, a pressure adjusting mechanism () is swiftly opened after a scroll compressor is started. With this, lubricant oil is supplied from the outer region () to the suction space () without a time lag.

According to the present invention, an oil supply passage is formed in a suction space of a fixed scroll part, and an oil collision part is provided in the suction space. The oil collision part is provided in the suction space, an amount of oil to be supplied is controlled, refrigerant and lubricant oil are sufficiently mixed with each other. Tangents of ends of the oil collision part are made acute angle to smoothen the flow of the refrigerant.

In a scroll compressor, an outer wall curve of a scroll lap of a fixed scroll and an inner wall curve of a scroll lap of an orbiting scroll are formed of involute curves whose basic circle radius is defined as 'a', an inner wall curve of the scroll lap of the fixed scroll and an outer wall curve of the scroll lap of the orbiting scroll are formed of involute curves whose basic circle radius is defined as 'b', and a value of a/b which is a ratio of the basic circle radius a and the basic circle radius b is set to a value exceeding 1.0 and less than 1.5. With this structure, a compression chamber formed on the side of the inner wall of the scroll lap of the orbiting scroll is compressed faster than a compression chamber formed on the side of the outer wall of the scroll lap of the orbiting scroll, and leakage loss during compression process can be reduced.

A surface of a fixed scroll which is opposed to a end plate of an orbiting scroll existing outside of a lap of the fixed scroll is formed with: a substantially annular seal portion which extends such as to have an outer wall surface of the fixed scroll outwardly extending from an inner wall surface of outermost periphery of the lap substantially along the inner wall surface, and which comes into slide contact with the end plate of the orbiting scroll; a substantially annular recess located outside of the substantially annular seal portion; and a recess which is brought into communication with an intake port of the fixed scroll independently from the substantially annular recess. With this, back pressure of the orbiting scroll is increased, and turning-over phenomenon of the orbiting scroll can be suppressed.

According to a scroll compressor of the present invention, lubricant is supplied to a compression chamber in the proportions of 2% by weight or more and less than 20% by weight of the lubricant to the sucked refrigerant amount. With this, it is possible to provide an efficient scroll compressor even when carbon dioxide is used as the refrigerant.

When sliding elements, slide bushings, vanes and Oldham rings employed in various types of refrigeration compressors and other applications meet the following conditions, they resist sticking to aluminum-base components, resist depletion of the oil film on slide faces, and exhibit excellent wear resistance. Firstly, the elements must comprise an iron-base sinter having closed cells on at least the slide face. Secondly, in order for the oil film to be maintained on the slide face by the closed cells and to enhance lubricating properties, the proportion of closed cells having circular-equivalent diameter of 10 &mgr;m or less, i.e. the number of &lE;10 &mgr;m cells/total number of cells, must equal 85% or more, and the opening area of the closed cells on the slide face must equal 5% or less. Finally, the sliding element density must be 7.3 g/cm,or higher.

To present a compressor for refrigerating machine excellent in lubricating effect, small in wear of contact portions, outstanding in refrigerating performance, and high in reliability, in a compressor using HFC refrigerant not containing chlorine atom. A lubricating oil containing HFC refrigerant, an ester compound oil as principal component, and a phosphoric acid triester as extreme pressure additive is used. Moreover it is composed so that the surface hardness of a vane for composing the contact portions of the compressing mechanism and the surface hardness of the piston may have a difference of 10 or more in Rockwell hardness (HRC). As the extreme pressure additive, also, phosphite, phosphoric acid diester or phosphoric acid monoester can be used. As the principal component of lubricating oil, ether compound oil or carbonate compound oil is also usable.
