A sheet post-processing apparatus includes a processing tray, a shift member, a discharge tray, a discharge roller pair, and a pressing member. The shift member moves a sheet loaded on the processing tray in a sheet width direction. The discharge roller pair discharges a sheet on the processing tray onto the discharge tray. The pressing member presses down a sheet discharged onto the discharge tray. The pressing member has an arm portion which rotates in the sheet conveyance direction about a rotation fulcrum, and a roller which is attached to the arm portion to be rotatable in the sheet width direction, and the pressing member is selectively disposed in a first position where the roller presses down the upstream-side end part of a sheet discharged onto the discharge tray, or in a second position where the roller contacts a lower surface of a sheet on the processing tray.

Sheet post-processing apparatus and image forming system including same

An image reading device includes a contact image sensor that extends in a main scanning direction at a rear surface side of a document table glass and optically reads an image of a document placed on the document table glass, a carriage that holds the contact image sensor, a rail member that extends in a sub-scanning direction and supports the carriage so as to be movable in the sub-scanning direction, and a driving unit that drives the carriage along the rail member. The image reading device includes a shaft arranged at the rear surface side of the document table glass, having a shaft line vertical to the document table glass, and being rotatable around the shaft line, and an eccentric cam eccentrically connected to the shaft and having a peripheral surface abutting an intermediate part of the rail member in the sub-scanning direction.

An image reading device includes a light source arranged below a document table glass and irradiating light to a document on the document table glass, a carriage that holds the light source and is movable in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to a main scanning direction, a photoelectric conversion unit that receives the light irradiated by the light source and reflected from the document, a pair of rail members that extend in the sub-scanning direction while being arranged spaced apart from each other in the main scanning direction and support the carriage so as to be movable in the sub-scanning direction, a rotatable shaft, and an eccentric cam that is fixed to the shaft, has a peripheral surface abutting at least one predetermined place of the pair of rail members, and rotates together with the shaft to displace the predetermined place of the rail members in a vertical direction.

A sheet feed device of an image forming apparatus includes an outside cover and an inside cover. The outside cover opens and closes a side of a housing. The inside cover is disposed more inside of the housing than the outside cover. Each of the covers is rotatably supported with a lower end thereof as a fulcrum by the housing. A first locking piece is provided in the upper end of the outside cover, and a second locking piece is disposed below the first locking piece. A coupled portion configured to be selectively coupled with the first locking piece or the second locking piece is provided in the inside cover. During the process where the outside cover is rotationally moved in the opening direction, the coupled portion is once released from the coupling with the first locking piece, and then is coupled with the second locking piece.

An image formation apparatus comprises an opening and closing cover, a cover fulcrum shaft, a roller shaft, and a grounding member. The cover fulcrum shaft pivotably supports the opening and closing cover. The roller shaft is disposed on the opening and closing cover. The grounding member has a first portion connected to the roller shaft and a second portion connected to the cover fulcrum shaft. The cover fulcrum shaft has a bent part that is bent so as to extend in a direction intersecting the pivot axis direction of the opening and closing cover, the opening and closing cover includes an engaging part that engages with the bent part, and the cover fulcrum shaft integrally pivots with the opening and closing cover when the opening and closing cover is opened and closed.

Feeding portion feeds sheet stacked on sheet stacking plate. Conveyance portion is provided on downstream side in sheet conveyance direction relative to feeding portion. Conveyance guide member is provided on downstream side in sheet conveyance direction relative to feeding portion, and spaced from feeding portion by predetermined gap, and has guide surface to support lower surface of sheet fed by feeding portion and guide sheet downstream in sheet conveyance direction. An end portion of guide surface on upstream side in sheet conveyance direction is positioned lower than feeding position. Air duct blows air sent from blower fan, toward gap, from position lower than the gap. Blowing control portion controls blowing of air from air duct.

An image forming apparatus has a casing, an opening/closing cover, an exposure device, an image forming unit, an airflow generator, a cooling air path, and a partition member. The partition member is disposed between the exposure device and the image forming unit, and is configured to change a state thereof between a first state and a second state. The first state is such that the partition member constitutes part of the cooling air path when the opening/closing cover is in a closed state. The second state is such that the image forming unit is allowed to be dismounted from an inner space of the casing, while passing between the exposure device and the image forming unit when the opening/closing cover is in an opened state.

An image forming apparatus includes a main housing, a post-processing unit including a pivotable processing tray, and a recording medium discharging outlet. The processing tray includes a lock member, urging member and lock releasing member. The lock member is supported movably between first and second positions. The lock member engages with an engaging hole at the first position and disengages from the engaging hole at the second position. The urging member urges the lock member towards the first position. The lock releasing member resists a force applied by the urging member so as to allow the lock member to travel to the second position. A recording medium depressing member is disposed within a pivotal range of the lock member. A first slope is provided on at least one of a contact portion of the lock member and a contact portion of the recording medium depressing member.

An overlapped transfer-preventing mechanism that is inexpensive, simple in construction, requires no actuator and has a high degree of freedom of layout. The mechanism includes an upper, rotatably driven, separating roll and a pivot integrated with a lower separating roll. The pivot is provided with a one-way clutch which prevents rotation of the pivot in a paper-supplying direction but which permits rotation of the pivot in the direction opposite the paper-supplying direction. The one-way clutch has mounted on it a lever member, which is engaged with a paper-carrying plate by an upward or downward moving operation of the paper-carrying plate so as to rotate the one-way clutch in the direction opposite the paper-supplying direction.

A paper supplying cassette for an image-forming apparatus is capable of eliminating a watch-and-wait time necessary for a cassette withdrawal operation and of preventing a driving system from being broken. A cassette plate with papers carried thereon is movable to an upper paper supplying position and a lower withdrawal position. A holding plate moves the cassette plate to the paper supplying position. A transmission mechanism transmits driving power from a motor to the holding plate. An interlocking arrangement disconnects the transmission mechanism from the holding plate when the cassette is withdrawn.

Paper-supplying cassette for an image forming apparatus

The main body of the image-forming machine is provided with an image-forming unit and a conveying unit disposed opposite to the image-forming unit. The conveying unit supports a mounting and detaching unit so that it is selectively movable to a set position or a non-set position. A locking means is provided between the mounting and detaching unit and the main body of the image-forming machine. When the mounting and detaching unit is held at the non-set position, the lock means is cancelled, and the conveying unit can be drawn from the main body of the image-forming machine. As a result, a large space is created beneath the image-forming unit, and jamming can be easily disposed of.
