Electrical connector

A connector with enhanced suppression and shieldability of signal interference between signal terminals is provided. A connector includes a ground plate made of conductive metal, the ground plate being placed beside a fitting groove of a socket housing. A plug includes a shield plate made of a conductive plate member beside a plug-side signal terminal, and a surface of the shield plate is opposed to a top end surface of the ground plate. The connector can ensure cooperation between the shield plate and the ground plate and enhance suppression and shieldability of signal interference between the signal terminals.

In the electric connector, a connector housing includes: a depressed fitting part; and a protruding fitting part provided inward of the depressed fitting part. The depressed fitting part and the protruding fitting part are capable of having protrusion-depression fits with a counterpart protruding fitting part provided in a ring shape on one side of a connector housing of a counterpart connector and a central depressed part provided inward of the counterpart protruding fitting part, respectively. The reinforcing metal piece to be attached to the connector housing includes a cover part for covering an end of the protruding fitting part from its upper surface side in a direction of the protrusion-depression fits over a width range equivalent to, or exceeding, a width, in a direction perpendicular to a row direction of the connection terminal row, of the protruding fitting part at the end thereof.

Electric connector

An electric connector includes connector bodies in which connection terminal trains are arranged in a coplanar fashion in male and female connector housings; and a ground connection fitting that is equipped therein so as to extend between the connection terminal trains in a train direction. At least one connector body has a conductive reinforcement fitting that extends along the connector housing. The ground connection fitting has ground connection portions that are exposed to the side of a board facing surface of the corresponding connector housing of the connector body; and reinforcement fitting connection portions that are connected to the reinforcement fitting on both outsides of the connection terminal trains in the train direction.

Grounded electrical connector

An electric connector includes a connector housing configured to be able to be protrusion-depression engaged with a connector housing of a counterpart electric connector in an opposed direction; a plurality of connection terminal rows arranged approximately in the same plane in the connector housing; a conductive member having conductive first plates attached to the connector housing on both outsides of the connection terminal rows in a row direction of connection terminals; and a conductive reinforcing metal piece extending along the connector housing. The reinforcing metal piece is mounted on the connector housing in such a state that at least part of the reinforcing metal piece overlaps with at least part of the first plates.

The electric connector includes: a connector housing having a depressed fitting portion, the connector housing being able to be protrusion-depression engaged with a connector housing of a counterpart connector in an opposed direction; a plurality of connection terminal rows provided in the connector housing; and a conductive member having conductive first plates attached to the connector housing on both outsides of the connection terminal rows in a row direction of the connection terminals. The connector housing has a terminal holder that is provided in a protruding manner in the depressed fitting portion, and holds one ends of the connection terminals in a row width direction. The conductive member has a second plate that extends from an end portion of the first plate on the side of the terminal holder to the inside of the terminal holder in the row direction of the connection terminals.

Provided is a substrate connection structure using a substrate connector capable of: ensuring a sufficient distance for adjusting positional misalignment even when the size and height of the substrate connector are reduced; preventing connector breakdown during the connecting operation thereof; and visually checking the connection thereof. A guide protrusion is provided at a mate-side end face of a guided portion so as to protrude farther beyond a mate-side substrate mounting surface when the plug is fitted into the socket. A first-side guide face is formed in an edge portion of an opening in a guide groove and the guide protrusion is provided with a second-side guide face slidable with the first-side guide face so as to lead the guided portion into the guide groove. Also, interference between the guide protrusion and the mate-side substrate is prevented from occurring.
