A plasma display panel (PDP) and a method of manufacturing the same suppresses variation in the height of the intersecting barrier walls with a simple method and that prevents cross talk from occurring between the discharge cells. A concave part is formed at a position contacting an intersecting part of a first barrier wall before baking and a second barrier wall before baking orthogonal to the first barrier wall before baking. When such concave part is formed, the values of the surface area per volume of the intersecting part and the surface area per volume of the first barrier wall before baking and the second barrier wall before baking between the intersecting part and the intersecting part adjacent to the intersecting part become substantially equal. As a result, the height of the intersecting part does not become high after baking, a barrier wall of aligned height is obtained, and cross talk does not occur between the discharge cells.

An AC type plasma display panel includes a plurality of pairs of display electrodes, a dielectric layer, a data electrode and a float electrode. A pair of the plurality of pairs of display electrodes are disposed parallel to each other on a front substrate and form a discharge gap for emitting light for display. The dielectric layer is formed on the front substrate and covers the plurality of pairs of display electrodes excluding at least a part of the discharge gap. The data electrode is disposed on a rear substrate, which is placed facing the front substrate across a discharge space, in a manner to cross under the display electrodes. A high-definition plasma display panel and its manufacturing method. Luminance is increased by increasing surface area of a phosphor layer without reducing a discharge space of a discharge cell. For formation of the phosphor layer, an organic binder is made by dissolving, through heating, at least an organic solvent and a plurality of resins of different solubilities with respect to the organic solvent, and phosphor paste is made of this organic binder and phosphor particles. A recessed and projected part is formed of spaces formed by burning out gelled substances formed by the resin with low solubility in a phosphor film, thereby increasing the surface area of the phosphor layer. Consequently, increased luminance is obtained.

In order to improve reliability of an MR head including a substrate, an MR element formed on the substrate, a reinforcing body, and a sliding surface with respect to a magnetic recording medium, in which the substrate and the MR element are exposed to the sliding surface, the substrate and the reinforcing body are bonded to each other by using a non-organic film, for example, a multi-layered film including metal layers. Alternatively, the substrate and the reinforcing body are bonded to each other via an adhesive film not exposed to the sliding surface.

A method is provided for producing a magnetic head which includes a pair of magnetic cores. The method includes the steps of disposing projection end faces of respective magnetic cores to and opposite each other with a magnetic gap member inserted therebetween. The magnetic cores are welded together with a pair of back glass blocks, and a pair of circular shaped notches regulating track width are formed via electric discharge machining. Thereafter, a groove is filled with a glass material using heat treatment to form front glass blocks interposed between a magnetic tape sliding face and the back glass blocks.

Method for producing a magnetic head

A magnetic head includes a pair of magnetic cores each having a convexly processed part, the convexly processed parts being disposed opposite to each other with a magnetic gap member inserted therebetween, and a pair of glass blocks disposed on both sides of the pair of magnetic cores, thereby coupling together the pair of magnetic cores. In the magnetic head, a metal magnetic film is formed on a projection end face of the convexly processed part in each of the pair of magnetic cores. A pair of notches regulating a track width are formed on a magnetic tape sliding face of the pair of magnetic cores by electric discharge machining so as to flank a butted part of the convexly processed parts of the pair of magnetic cores from both sides. Each of the notches has a shape such that an interface thereof is not positioned out of an edge of a recording pattern on a magnetic tape when the magnetic tape travels.

Method of producing a magnetic head

An image supporting medium coated with microcapsule toner particles is exposed according to an image pattern, and then a latent image is formed thereon. The image supporting medium on which the latent image is formed and the image recording paper are superposed and pressurized, and the microcapsule toner particles are ruptured and the contents included therein are released. During this process, hardened microcapsule toner particles and wall material of the ruptured microcapsule toner particles from which the contents flowed remain on the image supporting medium by a keying effect, and only the contents, i.e. the toner, are transferred onto the image recording paper. Moreover, the critical surface tension of the wall material of the microcapsule toner particles is smaller than the surface tension of the contents of the microcapsule toner particles. Further, the surface tension of the contents of the microcapsule toner particles is smaller than the critical surface tension of the image recording paper confronting with the image supporting medium. Thus, only the contents of the microcapsules, i.e. the toner, are transferred to the image recording paper. Therefore, a clear and accurate image is formed thereon.

Image forming apparatus

The invention relates to an image recording apparatus which directly controls a flow of toner particles for recording an image on a recording medium. The image recording apparatus of the invention, for recording an image on an image recording medium according to an image signal, has a toner particle supplying portion for supplying charged toner particles and a control electrode for directly controlling the flow of toner particles supplied from the toner particles supplying portion. The control electrode has a first electrode layer which has a thin board-like shape. The first electrode layer is provided on a base insulating material of the control electrode and is disposed facing to the toner particles supplying portion with a predetermined space therebetween. A first voltage power supply supplies a predetermined voltage, having at opposite polarity to that of the charged toner particles, to the first electrode layer. On the opposite side of the base insulating material is a second electrode layer made up of multiple independent electrodes. Each of the independent electrodes is supplied with a second voltage that is either larger or smaller than the predetermined voltage. A plurality of apertures, equal in number to the number of independent electrodes, that pass through the first electrode layer, the base insulating material and an associated independent electrode have an electrical field established therein that either pass or repel the charged toner particles to produce high density contrast images.

The invention relates to a selective particle applying device provided with a developer applying device. The selective particle applying device applies a developer to the entire surface of a capsule sheet coated with microcapsules, disposes the capsule sheet with its surface coated with the developer facing a developer removing electrode provided with a photoconductive member to which a predetermined voltage is applied, splits a light beam by a light beam splitter, irradiates the developer removing electrode with one of the split light beams, and irradiates the capsule sheet with the other split light beam. Portions of the photoconductive member irradiated intensely with the split light beam become conductive to enhance the intensity of electric fields created between conductive portions of the developer removing electrode and the capsule sheet. Consequently, the developer coating portions of the capsule sheet, corresponding to the conductive portions of the developer removing electrode, are drawn to the developer removing electrode to leave the developer only in portions of the capsule sheet necessary for forming an image.

An image forming apparatus for forming an image on a pressure-deformable or pressure-damageable image receiving member, such as corrugated cardboard, using a photosensitive, pressure-sensitive recording medium referred to as a microcapsule sheet which has a surface coated with an immense number of microcapsules encapsulating a chromogenic material therein. The microcapsule sheet is exposed to imaging light to form a latent image thereon. A developing agent is deposited on the latent image formed portion of the recording medium and a pressure is applied thereto to develop a visible image.
