An engine control device provided with a lean NOx catalyst comprises means for estimating a condition of the lean NOx catalyst, means for performing reactivation control of the lean NOx catalyst based on the result, and means for controlling the termination of the reactivation control. The lean NOx catalyst is constantly made usable in a favorable condition.

In order to provide a brake booster negative pressure controller which reduces deterioration in the fuel consumption due to operation for closing a throttle to assure a brake booster negative pressure while assuring the braking capability required according to driving conditions and can safely assure a braking capability even when a failure occurs in a negative pressure sensing system, said brake booster negative pressure controller comprises a brake booster for assuring a master vac negative pressure by using a negative pressure of an engine, a throttle valve whose opening angle can be operated independently from the stroke of an accel pedal, and a brake operation sensing means, wherein the negative pressure controller has a speed sensing means and a means for closing the throttle valve by a predetermined amount when the vehicle speed sensed by the vehicle speed sensing means is equal to or higher than a predetermined value and application of the brake is sensed by the brake operating sensing means.

Brake booster negative pressure controller

A fuel pressure control apparatus for cylinder injection engine having a fuel injection valve for injecting fuel into a cylinder of an engine, a pipe for conducting the fuel to the fuel injection valve, a fuel pump for supplying the fuel from a fuel supply system to the pipe, a fuel pressure regulator for regulating the fuel pressure within the pipe by discharging the fuel from the pipe to the fuel supply system, and a control unit for making feed-back control on the fuel pressure within the pipe by applying a control signal determined on the basis of an engine operation parameter to the fuel pressure regulator, wherein the fuel pressure regulator is controlled in a feed-forward manner by a predetermined control value so as to make better fuel pressure control at the time of start and when the fuel pressure transiently changes.

Fuel pressure control apparatus for cylinder injection engine

A target torque map is determined by an engine rotation number and an acceleration pedal opening degree. Plural control constant groups are provided to correspond the respective target torque map. A fuel precedent control is carried out by the plural constant control groups. By detecting an engine combustion condition, under a worse combustion condition a transfer to a higher torque side is carried out with a time function according to a complementary control of the control constant group. In a direct injection system engine, a controlling apparatus in which a stratified combustion and a homogeneous stoichiometric combustion are easily and stably.

Direct injection system engine controlling apparatus

A control apparatus for a multi-cylinder engine of direct injection, is composed of a pressure change estimation part for estimating in advance the pressure in each cylinder, from the fuel injection start to the fuel injection end, a part for calculating the difference between the estimated pressure in the cylinder and the pressure of fuel, and a part for calculating a supposed decreased amount of injected fuel, caused by the decrease of the difference between the pressure in the cylinder and the pressure of fuel, in a compression stroke. A part for determining an additional fuel injection time interval to a base fuel injection time interval also determined by the control apparatus, compensates the supposed decreased amount of injected fuel.

Control apparatus for an engine of direct injection

A measurement range is divided into a plurality of sections, a binary coded signal is generated at each division point, small section signals are generated at a predetermined interval between the binary coded signals, the binary coded signals are weighted by angles, and the small section signals are added or subtracted to or from the weighted signal to interpolate between two binary coded signals. Since the increment signals generated between the adjacent absolute signals is used as an interpolation signal between the absolute signals, the measurement accuracy is enhanced without increasing the number of elements for generating the absolute signals. The measured angle can be accurately read by adding or subtracting the increment signals to and from the weighted signal of the absolute signal.

Method and apparatus for detecting a rotation angle

A fuel injecting apparatus for an internal combustion engine, comprising a suction manifold and a throttle valve assembly connected to the suction manifold and provided with a fuel injector and a throttle valve. The plane of the opening of each branch pipe of the manifold is formed at a position receded downstream of a joining plane between the suction manifold and the throttle valve assembly to form space between the joining plane and the opening plane, and, at the same time, the branch pipes of the suction manifold are open at predetermined intervals around the central axis of the space which functions as part of a suction passage rotationally in the direction of the operating sequence of the integrated cylinders, whereby suction by each cylinder takes place consecutively in the same rotational direction in the space at the branch pipe inlets, and a swirl is generated at the space formed at the branch pipe inlets, thereby prompting the mixing of the fuel-air mixture and enabling uniform distribution of the mixture to each cylinder.

Fuel injecting apparatus for internal combustion engine

A single or twin valve fuel injection system including a fuel injection valve disposed on a downstream side of a throttle valve. The fuel injection system includes one or two barrels which are separated on a downstream side of the throttle valve and, each of which contains a fuel injection valve. The air intake passage is provided with a bent or curved passage member between a throttle valve and the barrel so that the streamline of the intake air passing through the throttle valve is turned at an angle of 90.degree. prior to flowing into the one or two barrels.

Single or twin valve type fuel injection system

A sintered cam ring is secured to the inner surface of a cylindrical body by means of a bolt. A fuel injection pump has a rotor which supports a roller rotating along the inner surface of the sintered cam ring and is driven by an engine. The sintered cam ring is provided in the outer surface thereof with a groove extending along the central axis thereof. A positioning member for fixing the position of the groove and that of a pin hole formed in the body for receiving a bolt is inserted such as to stretch between the groove and the pin hole. Further, a bolt is employed to secure and tighten the positioning member fitted in both the pin hole and the groove from the outside of the body.

A fuel injection pump including an injected amount determining high pressure chamber for determining an injected amount of fuel and an injection timing determining high pressure chamber for determining an injection timing of fuel, with the high pressure chambers being provided independently of each other. A shuttle is disposed in at least the injected amount determining high pressure chamber to form an injection fuel chamber and a pressurization chamber. The injection timing determining high pressure chamber is disconnected from the pressurization chamber in the supply process of fuel for determining the injected amount and fuel for determining the injection timing, and the injection timing determining high pressure chamber is communicated with the pressurization chamber in the fuel injection process. The shuttle for determining the injection timing is not influenced by the fuel for determining the injected amount at the time when the fuel for determining the injected amount is supplied.

Fuel injection pump

A fuel injection pump comprises a rotor located in a housing, a free piston movably mounted in an axial bore of the rotor, two pump chambers which is formed by dividing said bore by the free piston, and two solenoid valves for supplying fuel to the two pump chambers, one of the chambers receiving therein the fuel to be injected and the other for effecting control of the injection timing. This injection pump is characterized in that two preparatory chambers are provided downstream of the solenoid valves to keep fuel measured by the solenoid valves during the compression operation of said pump chambers and transfer the fuel to said pump chamber after completion of the compression whereby precise measurement of the fuel can be effected.

A fuel injection pump comprises a rotor disposed in a housing and having a pressure chamber therein, a free piston disposed slidably in the pressure chamber dividing the chamber two pump chambers, two solenoid valves for controlling fuel supply, and two preparatory chambers for metering fuel to be fed to the pump chambers. The preparatory chambers and the solenoid valves are arranged in the same plane crossing the axis of the rotor to align with each other. Fuel from a feed pump transfers to the preparatory chamber through the solenoid valve and is metered there. The metered fuel is fed to the pump chamber, pressurized there and delivered to the engine.

A distribution type fuel injection pump for distributing and pumping a fuel into a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine. The fuel injection pump is constructed of a hydraulic head formed with first and second fuel feed ports, a rotor fitted in the hydraulic head, and plungers fitted in the end portion of the rotor for effecting the pumping action in accordance with the rotations of the rotor. Separately of this rotor, there is formed in the hydraulic head, for example, a pressure space in which a shuttle is slidably fitted to partition the pressure chamber into first and second pressure chambers. The fuel, introduced from the first fuel feed port and compressed by the plungers, is guided into the first pressure chamber of said pressure space in accordance with the rotation of the rotor, and the fuel, is introduced into the second pressure chamber, is consecutively distributed and pumped into the respective engine chambers by the movements of the shuttle.
