A solenoid valve includes a linear solenoid and a ring-shaped rubber packing. The solenoid includes a yoke, an outer connector, a volume changing chamber, and a breathing passage. The yoke is made of a magnetic material and formed in a generally cylindrical cup shape having a cup-bottom part and a cup-opening part. The cup-opening part includes a notch. The connector is made of resin and exposed from the notch to an outside of the yoke. Volume of the chamber is changed in accordance with operation of the solenoid. The passage is formed inside the solenoid, and communicates with the chamber. The passage includes an outer opening, which opens into the outside of the yoke and is located at a fitted part between the yoke and the connector. The packing is attached around a base of the connector, where the yoke and the connector are fitted together.

Solenoid valve

A flow-metering valve for metering a flow of liquid has a valve member, a stopper and an electromagnetic driving member. The valve member is reciprocally displaceably arranged between a first position and a second position in the liquid chamber. The stopper is arranged at the second position in the liquid chamber. The electromagnetic driving member generates a magnetic attractive force between the valve member and the stopper to hold the valve member at the second position when the electromagnetic driving member is energized.

Solenoid valve, flow-metering valve, high-pressure fuel pump and fuel injection pump

A high pressure pump has a fuel passage and a pump chamber. Fuel flows into the pump chamber through the fuel passage. The high pressure pump includes a valve member and a plunger. The valve member is movable along a movable axis in a substantially axial direction of the valve member for controlling an amount of fuel flowing into the pump chamber through the fuel passage. The plunger is movable substantially along a movable axis in a substantially axial direction of the plunger. The plunger is capable of pressurizing fuel in the pump chamber to discharge fuel in the pump chamber. The movable axis of the valve member is displaced from the movable axis of the plunger substantially in parallel with each other.

High pressure pump having downsized structure

A high-pressure pump is formed with a secondary suction passage, which branches from a fuel suction passage and communicates with a pump chamber. Check valves for preventing a backflow of fuel are disposed respectively in the secondary suction passage and a discharge passage. An electromagnetic valve for regulating a fuel discharge quantity is disposed in the fuel suction passage. Normal control for controlling the fuel discharge quantity by controlling opening timing and closing timing of the electromagnetic valve with respect to reciprocating movement of a plunger is performed when an engine rotation speed is higher than a predetermined value during operation of an engine. Valve closing control for holding the electromagnetic valve at a closed state is performed when the engine rotation speed is equal to or lower than the predetermined value.

Fuel supply system of internal combustion engine

To provide a fuel supply apparatus capable of preventing seizure of a plunger by preventing deformation of a cylinder caused by attaching attachment parts, and capable of being decreased in size, respective attachment parts of a fuel inlet, a delivery valve and a pressure regulator are threadably attached to a housing on a same cross-sectional plane orthogonal to an axis of a high pressure fuel pump, and imaginary extended regions extending seat surfaces of the housing in a direction of attaching thereof, are disposed outside of an outer peripheral surface of a cylinder. Accordingly, even when the attachment parts push the seat surfaces in threadably attaching the respective attachment parts to the housing, almost no axial forces are exerted on the cylinder. Therefore, an inner peripheral surface of the cylinder can be prevented from being deformed, and a sliding clearance between the cylinder and a plunger is prevented from being reduced in size. Therefore, seizure between the cylinder and the plunger is prevented.

Fuel supply apparatus

A fuel injection apparatus for a diesel engine has a fuel injection pump for feeding fuel under pressure and fuel injection nozzles provided in the engine to inject fuel fed from the injection pump. A pressure sensor for detecting fuel pressure is provided in a midway in a fuel line connecting the injection pump to the injection nozzles. An electronic control unit (ECU) computes the frequency of the fuel pressure based on a detected value from the pressure sensor immediately after fuel is injected from the injection nozzles. The ECU then computes a fuel bulk modulus based on the result of the computation of the frequency of the fuel pressure. Based on the computed bulk modulus, the ECU computes a fuel injection start and end time. Further, the ECU adjusts an instruction value for fuel injection control based on the result of the computation of injection start and end, and controls the injection pump based on the adjusted instruction value.

Fuel injection apparatus for engine

A high pressure fuel supply pump which is driven by a cam connected to an engine is composed of a cylinder, a plunger slidably disposed in the cylinder, a tappet linked to the cam, a coil spring biasing the tappet against the cam, a cylindrical guide for the tappet, a plate member in abutment with head portion of the plunger, and a plurality of balls disposed between the plate member and the tappet to be slidable in directions perpendicular to the reciprocating motion of the plunger. Each of the balls shares the stress applied from the tappet.
