A first ECU estimates whether the operation of a second actuator has been started, based on the variation of the hydraulic pressure with respect to the flow rate of hydraulic fluid outputted from a first actuator. Even in a case where the operation information of the second actuator is not received, the first ECU sets the control mode to a simultaneous operation mode, when it is estimated that the operation of the second actuator has been started. In the simultaneous operation mode, a controlled parameter of linear control valves on assumption that the second actuator is operating is set up, and a stop instruction of regenerative braking is transmitted to a hybrid ECU.

Brake apparatus

A hydraulic brake system including: (a) a first hydraulic-pressure generating device including a manual hydraulic pressure source; (b) a second hydraulic-pressure generating device including a power hydraulic pressure source; (c) a manual-operation-associated brake line including a communicating device that is to be brought into communication with the manual hydraulic pressure source and brake cylinder or cylinders of the plurality of hydraulic brakes; (d) an output hydraulic-pressure control device and a flow restraining device disposed in parallel with each other between the manual-operation-associated brake line and the second hydraulic-pressure generating device; and (e) a power hydraulic pressure source control device for activating the power hydraulic pressure source such that the hydraulic pressure is supplied to the manual-operation-associated brake line via the flow restraining device, when the output hydraulic-pressure control device cannot control the hydraulic pressure outputted by the second hydraulic-pressure generating device.

Hydraulic brake system

A normally closed solenoid valve includes a valve element arranged to be seatable on and unseatable from a valve seat. A movable core is movable with the valve element. A first spring biases the valve element and the movable core toward the valve seat. A coil and a stator core generate an electromagnetic force resistive to a load of the first spring for the movable core. A second spring applies a load smaller than and resistive to the load of the first spring to the valve element and the movable core. The valve further includes a load adjusting mechanism for adjusting the load of the first spring, and a stroke adjusting mechanism for adjusting an unseating stroke of the valve element from the valve seat.

A hydraulic brake system includes: a hydraulic pressure source provided for a vehicle, and including a hydraulic-pressure generating device and a reservoir; a plurality of hydraulic brakes provided for respective wheels of the vehicle, and configured to restrain rotations of the respective wheels; and a control valve device including at least one hydraulic-pressure control valve group disposed between the hydraulic-pressure generating device and at least one of brake cylinders of the hydraulic brakes and/or between the reservoir and the at least one of the brake cylinders. Each of the at least one hydraulic-pressure control valve group includes (a) at least one ON/OFF control valve and (b) at least one linear control valve that are disposed in parallel with each other.

In a brake control device and a brake control method, when a shift to a brake mode for backup involving separation of a supply path of working fluid is performed at the time of detection of an abnormality during braking, a differential pressure acting between an outlet opening and an inlet opening of an open-close valve which is provided between a hydraulic pressure source that is used during the backup brake mode and wheel cylinders and which needs to be opened during the backup brake mode is lessened prior to the separation of the supply path of working fluid so that the open-close valve is opened in accordance with a valve-opening command. Therefore, at the time of switch of the control mode, the confinement of wheel cylinder pressure is avoided.

Brake control device, and brake control method

A brake apparatus includes multiple wheel cylinders; multiple maintaining valves; a pressure-regulating control valve; and a control unit that controls the upstream pressure by switching a pressure-control mode between a pressure-regulating mode which is selected when a deviation of the upstream pressure from a target pressure is outside a setting range and in which the upstream pressure is brought to the target pressure using the pressure-regulating control valve and a pressure-maintaining mode that is selected when the deviation is within the setting range. The control unit opens the pressure-regulating control valve before the pressure-control mode is switched from the pressure-maintaining mode to the pressure-regulating mode.

Brake apparatus and method for controlling the brake apparatus

A brake control apparatus () includes: a hydraulic pressure source () that regulates pressure of hydraulic fluid in accordance with a brake operation input (); a wheel cylinder () that applies braking force to a wheel () in response to a supply of the hydraulic fluid to the wheel cylinder (); a hydraulic pressure booster mechanism () that amplifies the brake operation input by using the hydraulic pressure source (), and outputs the amplified brake operation input; a hydraulic fluid supply path () through which the hydraulic fluid is supplied from the hydraulic pressure source () to the wheel cylinder (); and a controller () that shuts off (valve) a flow of the hydraulic fluid-through the hydraulic fluid supply path (), if a malfunction due to hydraulic fluid leakage is detected in the hydraulic fluid supply path () during a brake control mode in which the hydraulic fluid is supplied to the wheel cylinder () through the hydraulic fluid supply path ().

Brake control apparatus and brake control method

A brake control apparatus includes: at least one wheel cylinder that applies braking force to a vehicle wheel in response to supply of hydraulic fluid thereto; a manual hydraulic pressure source that pressurizes hydraulic fluid in accordance with brake operation by a driver; a cut valve which is arranged in a hydraulic fluid delivery path between the manual hydraulic pressure source and the wheel cylinder, and to which force is applied in such a direction that the cut valve is closed when the wheel cylinder is higher in hydraulic pressure than the manual hydraulic pressure source; and a controller that controls a discharge path, through which the hydraulic fluid is discharged from the wheel cylinder and which differs from the hydraulic fluid delivery path, so that discharge of the hydraulic fluid from the wheel cylinder through the discharge path starts in response to release of the brake.

A consideration creating portion creates a consideration control command value based on the target value and the actual value of the hydraulic pressure in the control-target brake system i and a target value and an actual value of hydraulic pressure in a comparison-target brake system j. Then, one of the consideration control command value and the non-consideration command value is selected based on an absolute value of a difference in the target value between the control-target brake system i and the comparison-target brake system j, and a combination of a control mode in the control-target brake system i and a control mode in the comparison-target brake system j.

Brake system control apparatus

An operation-characteristic obtaining apparatus including an operation-characteristic obtaining portion which obtains, as an operation characteristic of an electromagnetic control valve which includes a coil and which is opened and closed according to at least a relationship between (a) an acting force corresponding to a difference of respective pressures of a working liquid on either side of the electromagnetic control valve and (b) an electromagnetic drive force corresponding to an electric current supplied to the coil, a relationship between (c) a valve switching current as an electric current that is supplied to the coil of the electromagnetic control valve at a time when the electromagnetic control valve is switched between a closed state thereof and an opened state thereof and (d) a difference at the time of the respective pressures on either side of the electromagnetic control valve; and a leakage detecting portion which detects, when the operation-characteristic obtaining portion obtains the operation characteristic of the electromagnetic control valve, whether the electromagnetic control valve has a leakage of the working liquid.
