An electrical connection box has upper and lower casings () for accommodating circuitry. A surrounding wall () of the upper casing () fits inside a surrounding wall () of the lower casing (). Engaging locking claws () project from the outer surface of the surrounding wall () of the upper casing () and from the inner surface of the surrounding wall () of the lower casing (). An upper wall of the upper casing () is inclined down from a center portion to three peripheral edges. A drainage path () is defined by a clearance between the surrounding walls () of the upper and lower casings (). A bottom wall of the lower casing () has drainage holes () at the bottom end of the drainage path ().

Automotive electrical connection box and a method of mounting it

An electric wire cover () is mounted on a lower portion of a housing () of a female connector (). The electric wire cover () is accommodated inside a rectangular box-shaped connector-holding part () formed on a bottom wall (A) of a lower cover (), and an elastic piece () is interposed between the female connector () and the connector-holding part (). Thus, the female connector () is supported for elastic displacement in a wait state. In consequence of mounting of the lower cover () on the body (), the female connector () is connected to a connector connection part () of the body () of an electrical connection box. Thus in the case where there is a dislocation between the female connector () and the connector connection part (), the female connector () shifts along the bottom wall (A) of the lower cover (), thus absorbing the dislocation.

An electrical connector housing or automobile junction box is provided that forms internal circuits in a simplified way. The electrical connector housing includes at least one case which is to receive a plurality of circuit blocks, or layers, each of which includes at least one X-directional bus bar layer and at least one Y-directional bus bar layer superposed thereon. The X-directional and Y-directional bus bar layers contain strip-shaped bus bars laminated with insulative film. The strip-shaped bus bars are arranged in parallel at a given interval, respectively in an X direction and in a Y direction perpendicular thereto. The plurality of circuit blocks or layers are then superposed on one another with insulator plates interposed therebetween, such that the bus bars arranged in the X and Y directions form cross points. The cross points are electrically connected to circuits at desired cross points, for example by rivets or pins, so as to form branched circuits. The bus bars in the X and Y directions have folded end portions to form tabs for connection to external circuitry. A power block, current block and splice block may be included and may be individually replaced.

Automobile junction box with replaceable busbar circuit blocks

The breaker apparatus is disclosed which comprises a projecting wall standing upright from the base of a breaker body; a pair of plate-shaped fixed electrodes laid on the front and back surfaces of the projecting wall; a recessed plug to be fitted on the projecting wall; a U-shaped movable electrode to be stored in the plug for bringing the both fixed electrodes into conduction by clamping the projecting wall on the front and back surfaces thereof; a fuse storage section for storing a fuse connected to one of the fixed electrodes in the surrounding wall standing upright from the base in parallel with the projecting wall; a cover for covering the opening of the fuse storage section and being fittable to the surrounding wall; an engaging surface formed on the plug and facing in the fitting direction of the plug; and a cover motion stopper provided on the cover for engaging with the engaging surface of the plug with the plug fitted to the projecting wall.

Breaker apparatus

A breaker apparatus comprises: a breaker switch including a pair of fixed electrodes standing upright on the breaker body, a plug detachably mounted on the breaker body, and a movable electrode provided on the plug for disconnecting and connecting between both fixed electrodes by being pulled out or pushed in to the both fixed electrodes; and a fuse mounted in parallel with the breaker switch, characterized in that a locking lever is pivotably mounted on one of the breaker body and the plug and the locking lever is pivoted to the locking position where the plug is locked in the fitted state, in that the breaker body is provided with a micro switch having a swinging strip for detecting whether or not the locking lever is pivoted to the locking position so that the micro switch is activated when the tip of the locking lever pivots along the length of the swinging strip and presses the swinging strip on the way to activate the micro switch, and in that the tip of the locking lever is formed so that the length is maximum at the rear edge that trails when the locking lever is pivoted toward the locking position and decreases gradually toward the leading edge.

In the breaker device, a pair of stationary electrodes are arranged on the front and the rear side of the protruding wall , that is, the pair of stationary electrodes are collected at one place. Therefore, the pair of stationary electrodes have a space round both the stationary electrodes in common. Accordingly, the size of the breaker device can be reduced. Further, when the radius of curvature of the continuity section connecting the pinching pieces is made large, concentration of stress in the movable electrode can be relieved. Therefore, the pinching forces of both the pinching pieces can be increased. Accordingly, it is possible to ensure a sufficiently high contact pressure between the movable electrode and the stationary electrodes

Breaker device

There is provided an electrical connector housing including a printed circuit board, which is designed to avoid the formation of unusable space. The electrical connector housing which contains such a printed circuit board includes conductor patterns, bus bar circuitry including a plurality of bus bars, and an electronic component including a plurality of lead terminals. Further, the printed circuit board and the bus bar circuitry are arranged side by side on a same plane. Some of the plurality of the lead terminals are electrically connected to the conductor patterns, while the other lead terminals are electrically connected to the bus bars.

Electrical connector housing

A cable includes a conductive wire, preferably of copper, and an insulating sheath, preferably of synthetic resin, covering the wire. The conductive wire has, for example, a rectangular cross section. The cable can be pressed into a slit of a cramping terminal with an improved operability and a temperature increase of the conductive wire,can be suppressed.

Electrical connection box

There is provided an electrical connection box configured to be smaller in size on which electrical components and an electronic control device are mounted such that production costs are reduced. A plurality of electrical component housing areas is provided on a surface of one side on an electric connection box. An electrical component is adapted to be mounted on the electrical component housing areas. A male type connector for mounting an electronic control device is provided on a surface of the electrical connection box. The electronic control device is connected with the electric connection box by connecting the male type connector with a female type connector provided in the electronic control device. The electronic control device is mounted off to an outer side of the electric connection box, and a supporting plate which supports an area of the electronic control device is cantilevered from, or shifted off to the outer side of, the electronic control device. Additionally, fastening elements are provided on at least one of the electrical connection box and the electronic control device.

An electrical connection box includes a casing having an upper casing (10) and a lower casing (11). Terminal holes (19, 20) are formed on the outer wall of the casing. An insulating plate (12), mounted in the casing, has a several of wiring grooves (13) formed on at least one of its opposite faces (12a, 12b). Terminal driving portions (24 and 25), obtained by increasing a width of the wiring grooves (13), are provided at predetermined locations in the wiring grooves (13). Wires (14, 15) having first and second diameters are inserted into and held in the wiring grooves (13). Pressing contact terminals (16, 17) includes a pressing contact portion (16a, 17a) and an input-output terminal portion (16b, 17b) formed at its opposite ends, respectively. The pressing contact portions (16a, 17a) are driven into the terminal driving portions (24, 25) to connect through pressing contact to the wires (14, 15) held in the wiring grooves. The input-output terminal portions (16b, 17b) project out of each of the terminal holes (19, 20) to connect to an external circuit. The pressing contact portions (FIG. 46) may include notches (117g, 117h) that bite into the wiring groove as the pressing portions engage the wires and expand outwardly. Small-diameter wires 14 may engage shorter pressing contact terminals 16, while large-diameter wires 15 engage longer pressing contact terminals 17.

An upper casing and a lower casing together form a casing of an electrical connection box. An insulating plate is provided within the casing. A first space is thereby defined within the casing between the insulating plate and the one of the upper and lower casings, and a second space defined within the casing between the insulating plate and the remaining one of the upper and lower casings. A first circuit, formed by bus bars, is disposed in the first space. A second circuit is formed by wires and pressing contact terminals in pressing contact with the wires. Wires of a portion of the second circuit are shifted to the first space, and wires of the remaining portion of the second circuit are disposed within the second space.

A wire assembly is formed by insertion of a wire into a wire guide including a wire guide which is either a receiving groove or pairs of guide projections in or on an insulation substrate. Cramping terminals may be connected to the wire, and the wire may be cut in desired positions to separate it into a plurality of circuits. A retainer is provided which is at an angle to the leading end of the wire guide at a starting position. The wire is inserted into the wire guide after its leading end has been introduced into the wire retainer.

Wire assembly and method of production thereof

A continuous strand of wire is laid in a wire groove or between pairs of guides on a substrate and is cut at desired locations to form individual circuits. At least one recess below the level of the wire laying plane is positioned to correspond to a scrap wire portion to be cut off. The recess is wide enough to allow insertion of cutters. The cutters include pairs of first and second cutting blades located at opposite sides of the wire which are moved toward the wire so that both ends of the scrap wire portion are cut by the first cutting blades and by the second cutting blades, respectively.
