A vehicle interior accessory retainer includes a base, a base inner and a plate spring. In the base inner, upper and front openings are formed in upper and front parts, respectively, side walls are formed in side parts in the upper opening, a lower part is formed at a position opposite to the upper opening with the side walls in between, and a stay mount part is provided in the lower part. The plate spring has a planar portion, upright portions, and base-retaining pieces. The stay mount part has a projection. A nip part is formed between the projection and the lower part of the base inner. A through hole is formed in the planar portion in the plate spring. A tension applying part is formed between the upper surface of the lower part in the base inner and the projection in the stay mount part.

A gasket for a door mirror according to the present invention is constructed so that when the gasket is interposed and pressed between a mirror base of a door mirror and a mounting seat of a car body, a tip part of a seal lip is pushed against a seating surface of the mounting seat, so as to tilt and bow toward a circumferential portion of the gasket. Then the tip part of the seal lip is resiliently urged against the seating surface of the mounting seat because of its flexibility, so as to seal a clearance between a joint surface of the gasket and the mounting seat of the car body throughout the entire circumference.

An escape device for an inner mirror includes a stay base mounted on a ceiling of a cabin of a vehicle a stay suspended from and supported by the stay base and connected to the stay base pivotably about an axis extending horizontally in the direction of width of the vehicle, the stay having a mirror body attached to a lower portion thereof, and a stop mechanism provided between the stay base and the stay for stopping the pivotal movement of the stay about the axis relative to the stay base and thereby holding the stay in a suspended state in a normal mode of use and, when an external force exceeding a predetermined value is applied to the stay in the forward direction of the vehicle, disengaging the stay by the external force to allow the pivotal movement of the stay about the axis.

Escape device for an inner mirror

A manuscript display apparatus includes a bow-shaped main body having a light emitting body housed therein translucent diffusion plate arranged on top of the main body to diffuse light emitted from the light emitting body, a support portion rotatably supported with respect to the main body, and a half mirror supported at the tip end of the support portion. When the manuscript display apparatus is to be used, a manuscript sheet is placed on top of the diffusion plate in such a way that its surface on which a manuscript is written faces down to th diffusion plate. The light emitted from the light emitting body is diffused by the diffusion plate and uniformly illuminate the manuscript sheet from the underside thereof. The light that passes through the manuscript sheet is reflected off the half mirror and therefor the manuscript is displayed as a virtual image. Because the virtual image is reversed at the half mirror, the virtual image displays the manuscript of the manuscript sheet in its original form.
